I used 30 of these to jack and stabilize a house, They are not as nice as the $100 options that can also be used as a jack but they are far cheaper and work as designed. I jacked the beam up set these on a concrete base and set my height then lock the nut. Just set your height first! A good deal for what you need and easy to adjust in the future.

I made the grave mistake of not reading the reviews... these are well built, but should only be sold as a POST, because that's what it is. As others are indicating, the end that should swivel is welded, therefore removing your ability to JACK. These serve no purpose other than an adjustable post.

These jacks are light yet strong and were perfect for my application. A well designed product.

The actual nuts on the threads are a sloppy fit as well as waaayyy too light duty to support any type of weight. They're metric as well. I tried using a standard & metric thread nut and it won't go on. The threads are actually undercut to a 18.5 mm thread, the nuts are 19 mm. The only way to fix the solution is to use a locking nut, a nylock won't work very well.

Used as extra supports on an old home to ease creaking of wood floors I used my 5 ton jack to gently raise the floor joists and set these in place using screws to insure no slide possible. For the price a good choice.
