Arrived quickly and unmolested. Good surface finish no paint on threads. No missing parts or pieces and no damage.Strong, durable supports easily pushed up the rafters of the house. Easy to setup just pick a good 4x4. I had to shop around a bit the big box stores had moldy chunky 4x4s. Get prime 2 wood and these are sufficient to hold up a side of a small house for sure. Mine fit the prime 2 wood slightly loosely but that makes no real difference other than making it easy to put together. These have an articulated foot so they could actually be placed on angle and pinned in place if that was necessary. Can't speak to holding a load that way mine are always positioned perpendicular to the load.Used these during a remodel of a 100 year old house that was not built incorrectly. I held up the roof while putting in modern framing supports to hold up the structure. Hopefully it lasts another 100 years.

So I ordered two, and it kind of seemed like they came from different batches. The one I am presuming was older, had paint on the threads which was a minor issue, it made it considerably harder to crank than the other one, which didn't have paint on the threads. but they worked perfectly for the job. would be cooler if they were adjustable with a ratchet, but they got the job done. I used them to lift a deck I built for a customer, due to erosion issues with their soil, a footing sank 2" so I needed to replace the post with one 2" taller. Good product, made the repair easy.4 star for the old one with paint on the screw, 5 star for the one without!

I used this to jack a porch up where each side was over 3000 lbs. There is NO WAY you are going to be able to raise something heavy if you don't have a way to extend the bar. I'm pretty strong and but I had to use a cheater bar to make the turn rod longer. Otherwise there would be no way to turn it. I also sprayed it with some WD-40 which helped. So if you just want to raise this up to support something that's already at the correct height then you're fine. But if you are trying to raise something higher then you'll need to make the rod longer to do so. This thing is loosey goosey so it will tilt around left right etc. But if you put some weight on it it stays in place. Strangely if you buy qty 2 then the price jumps up A LOT. But if you buy 1 of them and then specify two of one qty you can get them for around $55 ea as of Oct '23. So if you need more than one buy them individually to save money. Good value for the money. I can confirm these things supported 3000 lbs each.

This shore jack worked really well to help me sister the 2nd story joist rafters by jacking up each joist to be able to have enough clearance to turn the new joist so it would sit along side the old one. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND using a wire brush on the threads to remove any paint to make your life easier before using this shore jack. Other than that it is affordable, sturdy and easy to use, would definitely buy again.

jack was well made, I bought several, one issue: the screw shaft was powder coated on one of them, it was hard to turn the screw, needed a bar to turn it, this removed the powder coating, once the powder coat was off it worked fine. I think this was a glitch in manufacturing, but I would still rate the overall quality as a five--nothing is perfect, did not reduce rating for a glitch

As other reviewers have noted, when these were painted, the exposed threads were painted also and on two of the four I purchased, I had to spend some time with some paint stripper gel and a wire brush in order to get the paint off enough to where the screw could be operated relatively easily. That one 'minor' issue not withstanding, the shore jacks performed well. In my application, the previous homeowner added on a 6 x 20 foot pantry alongside the house but only supported the outside wall with 6, 4x4 posts in cement at ground level. Needless to say, the 4x4s rotted out at the ground level and these shore jacks allow me to support the outside wall while I replace the 4x4 posts with a more adequate post and beam support. I am very happy with how they are working.

I had a 4 by 4 corner post support for an overhead deck that had rotted out and i needed a tempoary adjustable support to take up the deck weight while i replaced the rotten post on the outside. What made this jack so handy was the ability to adjust its height and take up the slack. Make sure to use some grease on threaded portion. Pricey but not a throw away tool by any means.

I don’t really need this but I was too lazy to build one from wood so I bought these shore jacks because I like DIY gadgets. It turns out that I am glad I got it because they are so easy and convenient to use...and kinda cool...and I am a girl so if I can do it, anyone can do it. :pPlease Note!!!If you have a super load bearing wall I suggest setting up more of these support jacks, but my roof is a truss type, so I don’t need much support. That is why I only used two shore jacks.

I used this to anchor a 9' cedar 4x4 that we're using as a scratching/climbing post for the cats, so we don't have to sink screws into the ceiling or floor. It works well. The 4x4 fits into the socket rather loosely, perhaps 1/8" around all sides, but that hasn't affected its functionality.Could have given five stars, but only robots give five stars.
