The cabinet went together well no problems to speak of But when installing the draws Oh my ! after an hour and one halh trying to keep the draws on the rails and locking them in this was not working . Then one of the Bering rails fell off and the bearings the size of beebees went all over . Decided then to set this cabinet at the end of my drivway .

I retired as an aerospace mechanic. The tolerances of this build makes this item a no-fly-situation. It’s sole purpose is to have the drawers slide in-and-out nicely and assuredly. This item is a “you build” type. I thought I would give it a try. Boy, was I mistaken. The sheet metal is way too thin causing even the screws the manufacturer put to be striped on arrival. The rails are truly a joke. There is no way you can send this back for a return based on how complicated the boxing is (you would have to take hours to do so). So, I just purchased for 155.00 a bunch of metal, cardboard and styrofoam that I now have to take and pay again to the dump. My advice. … purchase a spot welded filing cabinet from a near by office supply store, bring it home and then deal with the packaging disposal. The Seinfeld show had a shtick where you “Make your own pizzas”. … same thing here. BTW, I wish I could give this item a big zero stars but they won’t let me.

I was skeptical of buying an unassembled file cabinet, but this product is a great buy! The box was packaged very well for shipping and all the parts arrived undamaged. The instructions were easy to follow and the video made the assembly process even better - it took maybe 90 minutes by myself. The hardest part for me was aligning the drawers to go into the cabinet properly. The finished cabinet is sturdy, and holds a lot of documents!I would buy again!

There were extra metal parts which were not listed nor shown in the assembly instructions. Don't what they were for. Maybe just extra packaging

The metal is thin so you should be careful during assembly. I don't think it would hold up to heavy office use, but is an inexpensive a option for the home. Assembly was pretty straightforward and with a little imagination one person can do the whole job my

A. The Good:a. The product was delivered on time and undamaged.b. The product was well-packaged, and all the parts were included. I inventoried and photographed the unboxing steps in case I needed to repackage the cabinet to return it. You don’t have to do this, but if you don’t you may have a frustrating experience if you need to return the cabinet or if you discover late in the assembly process that parts are missing.c. Tools (screwdriver, mallet, and gloves) were included.d. The cabinet is very sturdy if assembled properly.e. The drawers slide in and out easily.f. Assembly was easy only because I used both the printed and video instructions. (See “B.a.” below.)g. It looks good.h. We kept and are using the cabinet, but it has some problems…please read on.B. The Bad:a. Some of the printed assembly instructions are difficult to follow and unclear.b. If the drawer slides do not work properly, Step 13 in the printed instruction says you should follow the slide track removal instructions to remove and reinstall the drawers. [My translation of the manual translation.] As you will read later (see “C.” below) I needed to remove and reinstall the drawers many times. The problem is that no removal instructions were included in the manual or the video. I emailed the company at the address included in the packaging. I have not gotten a response. Very disappointing. In case you need to do this too, first extend the drawer as far as it will go, then push the plastic slide-catch lever on the right side of the drawer down and pull the one on the left side up and hold them there. (Yes, different directions.) Next push the drawer in slightly and pull it back out. It should slide right out easily. It took me a while to get the hang of this but after a while I was a pro.c. The “Lower frame” (part 4) did not seat properly no matter how much or heavily I tapped it. Thus, it was not flush with the left and right panels – a difference of about 1/8 to 3/16 inch. Not much, I agree, but the problem is that the plastic cabinet feet (part E) get mounted on the corners with screws that go into the left and right panels and the lower frame. The difference in flushness caused the plastic feet to begin to bend. I was concerned that over time they would crack. My solution was to not fully tighten the screws that went into the lower frame. Not very desirable.C. The UglyThe “anti-tilt” feature is enabled using two plastic hasps (part A) that engage rods extending from the locking bar. This design worked well and would not allow more than one drawer to be opened at a time. The problem was that after opening-and-closing a drawer none of the drawers would open! I troubleshot this for a while and found that the plastic hasps were preventing the locking mechanism from fully dropping when a drawer was closed. This prevented all the drawers from opening. I had to lock and unlock the cabinet to reset the locking bar. In case this happens to you, my solution was to remove the top anti-tilt hasp. This worked, at least for now, but is not very satisfying. The good news is that I have a spare hasp in case the installed one breaks. The manufacturer needs to redesign the anti-tilt hasp. (Now you see being able to remove the drawers is important.)
