I like how this cabinet turned out. Assembly would have been faster if I had used a power drill. The cabinet comes with a flat head screw driver, but the screws are Phillips head. Came with two allen wrenches for the built, worked fine. I did not have any problems with pieces being damaged. All of the holes lined up. I messed up the bottom of the cabinet and flipped the piece the wrong way so I had to take out a few screws and re-screw it. User fault: when I was screwing in some of the screws, I did not have them straight right away and some of the *what I’m assuming is veneer* chipped around the holes. It’s all on the inside/ not visible portions of the cabinet so I can live with it. I primarily bought this cabinet because I liked the height, and I plan on putting a 3D printer on it. It was also on sale so that made the decision easier. Kind of wish it had been “on sale” in all white, but I’ll take it.

Lots and lots of little screws and small parts. Took me five hours to assemble it.The locking mechanism is crude; I did not intend to use it.But I finally got it together, and then the top drawer was stuck shut. No way to get at the screws to get it open. So I pryed it open with a crowbar. Turns out the rear wheel was stuck and then broke when I applied pressure.I put the file cabinet in the trash can.

LOTS of pieces but decent instructions. Well built when assembled and solid. Got down to the second last page and the front panel of the lower door was miss-drilled - too wide to screw the posts into. How do you return an 3/4 assembled file cabinet? Used epoxy resin to fill the overly large holes and inserted the pegs holding the front panel onto the drawer portion. Worked well. Lots of metal parts (assuming for the lock mechanism) with no instructions for so it doesn’t lock but that’s not an issue for me. It functions for me as a solidly-built two drawer filing cabinet on lockable wheels. I’m happy (with a slight blister from using their included screwdriver which has a rough handle).

I was on the hunt for the cheapest (but not crappy), 2-drawer, lockable filing cabinet I could find. This definitely serves that purpose. It's very sturdy and does not feel or look cheap or crappy. Some notes:1. The drawers do not pull out all the way, so you cannot access items at the back of the drawers easily.2. I found it easy enough to assemble using the instructions. The instructions are visual (no verbal steps), and the only place where I needed help (from my mechanically inclined husband) was in understanding/adjusting the locking mechanism. We ended up doing that very easily but I would have struggled on my own.3. This was easy enough but not explained in the instructions - there are two options for where to place the bars and it's just for the size of your folders. The inner option is for letter sized folders.

The cabinet itself is great and surprisingly sturdy and I've been using it to store important documents or other items, and use the shelves to display figures and models. But the assembly process was a bit complicated and confusing at the beginning. Mainly the fact that the shelves were assembled first and not the cabinets or base itself which was the next step after assembling the shelf portion. The instructions wanted me to put the two together then the metal frame/feet which was difficult as I was on the floor trying to play Twister with the cabinet. Overall though I'm really happy with the cabinet.

This wood cabinet looks nice and is very sturdy. Adjustable rails for different size folders. Took a couple hours to put together, but directions were very clear with drawings and everything was aligned correctly. Not a deep cabinet, but measurements were accurate and works for me. Would recommend.

It's always a challenge to put furniture together specially with a lot of pieces, but it's also the best way to do it with family. I was surprised, but it was my own foul, that the cabinet was made out of wood and not metal. I didn't read the description. A picture is worth a thousand words and that's how the instructions were, pictures and numbers. The only time I had an issue was with the locking drawer mechanism, were I could lock the unit since the pieces didn't line up. I went back to the instructions and saw that the lock mechanism had an specific measurement to lineup this part. All holes and pieces lined up perfectly, and all screws were accounted for (it came w/ an extra bag of extra pieces). They can do a better job with the locking mechanism, it works, but it's a bit flaky. Heavy but very strong for me. I also love the extra rolling wheel to stabilized the cabinet in case you have heavy folders making the unit go forward.

My wife and I bought this mainly to organize our paperworwork, such as banking, bills, taxes etc. Alxo I wanted to clean up some clutter from on and in my desk.It looks good, it's sturdy and well made when properly assembled. The top drawer holds all the paperwork we need to keep, the bottom drawer is storage for the boxes of file folders, hanging files and extra capacity hanging folders I've bought over the years. Why is it I have to buy a box of 25 or more when I only need half a dozen? :) The caster wheel on the bottom drawer is an excellent idea. The shelf and printer stand are also an excellent idea. I only wish the top drawer opened about 3 more inches. It holds everything we wanted and then some but that 3 inches would make it easier to get at the files in the back. I used a pair of P clamps around the frame uprights to secure it to the wall instead of the strap, it just worked and looked better better to me.Assembly is fairly straight forward when the instructions are followed, and they're pretty good. The supplied tools are good, but I do wish that the double ended screwdriver had a smaller Philips head instead of the blade, it would have worked better with the small screws.Speaking of the fasteners, they are all there and of decent quality. The extras bag was a thoughtful bit of insurance. Not all the fastener bags are numbered but that's nothing really. As for advice, there are a few tips I can offer. The instructions are good, follow them closely. Put it together in a spot with lots of room to lay everything out and work. Also an area with lots of light, and glasses if you use them to read. Some of the alignment hints in the instructions are easy to miss, making it easy to lay a board in upside down or backwards. I assembled mine in the dwindling lightcoming in during a power outage and missed some of those hints, having to redo a couple of things :).Finally, the screws are going into pressboard, do not use a power driver even though one is on the list of tools to use. Start and turn the screws in slowly by hand, with a firm push in on the screwdriver. Otherwise the screws will strip out. Follow these tips and it will go perfectly.Yes, I certainly would by one again, I'm impressed. I'd give it a solid 4.5 or 5 out 5

Coming from someone who enjoys putting things together (Actually, I build cabinets for a living.) I would call this a medium-hard project due to the number of pieces and different types of connections. The instructions seemed pretty clear to me, though, and (almost) all of the parts were clearly labeled. It took me 2 hours using only the tools provided.A couple of things to note: 1) As others have stated, the bottom piece of the cabinet needs to go towards the back instead of flush with the front. Otherwise, the bracket for the wheel won't allow the bottom drawer to close. 2) The lock has to be screwed on in the right direction in order to work. I did strip the wood out for one of the screws on both drawers, but the lock still stays on tight. 3) There are two options for inserting the filing rails. One hole for average size files and one next to it for legal files. I'm only mentioning these things because of the negative reviews.Overall, this turned out to be sturdy and attractive. I'm happy that I got it.
