I took a chance to purchase this, based on the photo image of the Center Punch/Point of this Forstner bit, appearing to be shorter. Turns out exactly that, the Center Punch is only 2mm, whereas other Forstner bit Center Punch can be 4mm. I wanted to drill a shallow hole and not have the Center Punch drill through on an 1/8 inch sheet of acrylic. This bit work perfectly.

I used this bit to make holes for clock inserts in black walnut and maple. I use it in a drill press and I clamp the wood to hold it in place. So far it has made perfect holes for me.

Garbage! Absolute garbage! A regular HSS Forstner bit outperforms this carbide junk. It was chattering and jumping off center horribly and the 2.5” bit left a 2.75” jagged hole. And all of the cutting edges are DULL DULL DULL!!! It got used once and is already in the recycling bin. I’m going back to a normal HSS bit!

I read the reviews on this drill bit and the reviews were good so I bought it. Due to the size of the bit, I knew I would have to use a little finesse to get the desired effect. I predrilled the center of the hole(2-3/4"), then I slowly drilled down 3/8" with the larger bit (3-!/2") Everything turned out perfect. Project completed. I would definitely buy this one again.

Razor sharp from the factory and holds its edge well. Bored 6 blind holes 1-1/4” deep in a rock-maple board with ease.

A very nice bit, makes good holes. Doesn't work in hard (ie lilac) woods but it does what I need.
