I really like the different design with it being square. We are replacing all the alarms in our house. This one has three AA batteries which are included! No more having to keep square 9 V batteries to replace! I really like the added benefit of this carbon monoxide detector. I think this one’s classy being square.

Best to buy locally. Equal price, but not equal value. By locally easier return. Constant beeping can’t be muted. Turn off the beeping and the thing doesn’t work. Sometimes I make the worst mistakes and this is one of them. Finally shut out the beeping and had a small fire, and only the cat alerted me to the smoke in the house when I got to the smoke alarm it was beeping, but it was beeping a little bit louder than the normal beep beep beep beep beep. I would not recommend this one to anyone. Thankfully the fire was very small and no damage was done. Cleanup was a chore

These smoke and carbon monoxide detectors appear to work and easy to install. I like the fact that it not only came with batteries but also the mounting hardware for each of the three pack. I used these to add additional detectors downstairs as I felt they were lacking and you can never be too safe. It replaced an old one that would still occasionally beep despite the fact they had new batteries. So these were an upgrade as they also monitor carbon monoxide. The only downside to the three pack is that they don't talk to each other. It would have been nice to have them on some local network, but I am sure that would have increased the price. Overall, I would say I sm happy with my purchase and would recommend these to anyone replacing a generic smoke alarm to get these for the carbon monoxide detection. Alone.

Update: The seller worked with me to send a new device that appears to be working well. I might have simply had a faulty device. I will keep monitoring it to update the review as needed.This lasted barely six months. It started giving a major carbon monoxide warning but when tested against a professional monitor, this one read 35 while the professional one read 0. And when it went outside, it went up??? I do not recommend this.

After a few months changed batteries. After 8 months an alarm went off. After changing the battery it became extremely hot to touch and wouldn't work. After changing the other 2 batteries/alarms as a precaution. The other 2 alarms did the same thing and would not work. It concerned my wife we may have a CO problem on our hands do to the one that initially tripped was in the kitchen. After contacting the fire department to double check, everything turned out fine. CHEAP AND INEXPENSIVE! You get what you pay for! Pay the extra money for a legit CO detector.. you wont regret buying something else
