It works great. I had an easy setup process. I bought a Used new item, and it's never falsely gone off. Thankfully, I've had no Fire, so I haven't gotten the chance to see if the product does work correctly.

I was looking for smoke alarm which is battery operated since I don’t have a hard wire available. I want it to work with ring so that it can integrate with a central monitoring system to satisfy our insurance company’s new requirement. This one fits the bill. It’s affordable, and it took me 1 min to set it up with ring. Highly recommended.

Purchased a few of these for the garage and basement. I like the fact that I get an alert on my phone via ring app if one of these goes off. And the face that it’s smoke and CO is a plus. Setup was very easy and works great. Know you have to replace these every now and then especially in a garage that is use to getting a little dusty.

I am a contractor myself and got 9 smoke detectors for my customer to install in they home. I got the Z-wave model because they integrate with Ring alarm system. Customer ring Alarm was integrated with emergency services and had call first responders function enabled then I installed the smoke detectors. After about a month from installation fire alarm in the hallway went off, nobody was home and system called the Fire Department. They (Fire Department) came in and broke the front door only to find out there is no fire. Owners were pissed, but I told them it is probably one off and most likely will not happen again. I called the company (First Alert about this) they told me to clean smoke detectors from dust with vacuum, so I did clean all 9 of them and installed them back. Customer as a precaution disconnected the Ring from emergency services and I am glad they did. After this (cleaning the smoke detectors) alarm went off 3 times in different location for no reason, and no one was home. Rig App alerted Owners about the fire, but then they rushed home, there was no fire or smoke. My Customer is very upset and asking for full refund and to replace the smoke detectors with different brand. I contacted the First Alert only to find out they do not refund directly. I will be contacting Amazon with this hopefully they will resolve and return money for this junk product.

Es muy difícil poder decir si el producto funciona o no porque solo se podrá saber en caso de una emergencia. No obstante se siente de buena calidad y las pilas al parecer duran bastante. El envío de Amazon estupendo!

So I am currently purchasing my 4th one of these zwave smoke/co detectors from First Alert. I do like them and for the most part they work great with my nexia zwave system. The stay paired up and don't eat batteries too quickly. I change them when the indicator on my system shows under 50% which is over a year. And why am I purchasing my 4th one in the last 4 years? Well I only have 2 in my home but they do not last very long so I have had to replace them more often than seems like I should. Actually I bought 2 in 2016 and had to replace one in 2019. If you get 5 quick chirps then you have received the "end of life" indication. Nothing you can do but replace it! Now that newer one has stopped working properly and just started indicating "smoke" when there is none. It decided to wake me with a false alarm at 2:30 am of course and there is no smoke in my home. I tried changing batteries (they are at 86%) and also took it outside but nothing will make it stop chirping for smoke. So now I am replacing this one which is only 10 months old. I am going to try to get a warranty replacement but I won't sleep well without having a working detector so here I am ordering ANOTHER one!3 stars awarded because they don't last as long as they should. Would be 5 stars if I didn't have to keep ordering replacements!Edit: I upped to 4 stars because when I called First Alert they had no problem with replacing my most recent malfunctioning detector. I bought it in August 2019 (now July 2020) and it was manufactured in Jan 2019 so its not like it was old stock.

This smoke detector was easy to install! I easily integrated it with my Ring alarm system. It was even put to the test when we burnt some food and the smoke alarm went off, triggered the Ring alarm and we promptly got a call from the Ring monitoring station.

Only had it for a couple of weeks, works well - no false alarms. So far very happy. Easy to integrate with Smartthings.

Arrived in one day! This unit works great with VeraPlus running the latest firmware as of this time, and is very easy to add to controller. It shows up as two devices - the parent device is a "Smoke & CO Sensor", and a child device also shows up as "CO Sensor". You can create scenes for alerts based on these devices separately, so that you distinguish between CO and Smoke alerts. This unit takes two AA batteries, not a 9V battery which is usually what is expected with smoke alarms. Not that it is very significant, but just more of an FYI. Just a suggestion - don't use Parameter #1 to enable double alerts because if you do, it will make the child CO Sensor device disappear once the controller writes that parameter to the device. Then you can't create scenes for smoke and CO separately.

I ordered this via Amazon Prime and it arrived 2 days later as expected; it arrived new and in its original clamshell. The testing button set off the test notifications, and they sounded. The audiable warnings are either 3 beeps separated by pauses for smoke or 4 beeps separated by pauses, and along with the loud beeps are the LED lights that illuminate next to the CO or Fire icons.I connected this to my Z-Wave network which is controlled by a VeraLite. It paired very easily following the instructions, I simply set my VeraLite in pair mode to add a new device, inserted the batteries into the detector, held the test button as I pushed in the battery door. The VeraLite paired on the first try. I didn't get a CO test kit, and am just hoping that it works as the smoke does. There were 2 things that would make me happier with this unit are, first the only way to test the Z-Wave alerts is to set the detector off for either smoke or CO as the test button doesn't trigger an event on the Z-Wave controller, so I bought a can of smoke to test it which worked great. Within a few seconds the alarm went off, and I received the alert from my Vera as expected. I also already have 2 talking smoke/COdetectors which are placed around the house, so another thing I was unhappy about is that there is no voice alarm on these, but at least they have Z-Wave smoke/CO detectors at all.Since everything works as advertised I gave this 5 stars, and would recommend this to those who want a Z-Wave smoke/CO detector. I will probably eventually buy a second, but I'm hoping they'll come out with a talking alarm version before I do.
