The 3M Rugged Comfort Quick Latch Half Facepiece Reusable Respirator 6500 Series helps provide workers with respiratory protection in harsh, dirty work environments against airborne contaminants when used with approved 3M cartridges and filters. This facepiece combines comfort, durability, and stability with a firm, lightly textured silicone faceseal and strong body construction. The proprietary quick latch design offers an easy, one-hand touch drop-down mechanism for putting the facepiece on and taking it off while moving in and out of contaminated areas. The quick latch also eliminates the need to remove a hardhat or faceshield when lowering or raising the respirator. When properly fitted and used with approved 3M cartridges and filters, this respirator helps provide respiratory protection in workplaces at concentrations up to 10 times the Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL). While being the lightest silicone 3M half facepiece, it is still rugged enough to withstand long hours and extreme conditions. The resilient silicone faceseal offers an extended facepiece life, even keeping its shape in high-heat environments.
Innovative design features include a valve cover that helps to direct exhaled breath and moisture downward and 3M’s proprietary Cool Flow Valve that helps to make breathing easier. Made to fit securely and comfortably on the head, the facepiece comes with an adjustable head harness assembly featuring long-lasting polyester/spandex straps that stretch and conform to the individual who wears the respirator. This facepiece is compatible with all 3M bayonet-style filters and cartridges to help provide respiratory protection against a variety of gases, vapors, and particulate hazards (i.e., dust, paint aerosols, etc.) according to NIOSH approvals. This filter compatibility helps to make the respirator highly versatile for many workplace environments and a variety of jobs where respiratory protection is required.

Rubber is softer on face. Almost feels thicker. It’s the only one I can wear all day as a bridge painter. Easy to breath out of and the click latch to drop the mask makes like so much simpler

The mask is high quality and seals well; it's easy to breathe with and the quick release is great. I tried the Medium size, and found it put a lot of pressure on the bridge of my nose even when adjusted properly. After wearing for most of a day, I found I had a bruise on my nose. I bought the Large size, and so far it has been a little bit better but not perfect.Also, the product arrives with a terrible chemical smell; I'm not sure how long it takes to fully dissipate, but it left me with a bit of a nauseous taste in my mouth after using it. Ultimately I'd rather have a bruise and smell something bad than get lead poisoning, but was hoping there would be fewer compromises.

It is an excellent choice for protection against viral aerosols, like bird flu, when used with a good particulate filter. Also fit is everything for this kind of use, and this is about as good as it gets on that count.

I was using those stupid masks and decided to try this one. The full mask allows for better filtration as there are no openings around the face to let dust and odor in. It blocks out all dust and odor as far as I can tell. It's also comfortable even though it's around your face and the systems allows for blowing out warm air rather than just holding it in the mask. I love this thing....you know when you really need to be wearing a mask for work

This is the first one I ve had so I have nothing to compare to. It is easily adjustable. Easier to use than wearing a mask. The longest I've used it at one time without taking it off is 3.5 hours and I had to dry out the inside of the mask from my perspiration then. It seems to work very well. and the seal is great.

Over the years I've used a variety of masks and respirators. This is one of the more comfortable ones. The silicone face pad is soft and flexible enough to seal well without being too tight, even with a beard. It works well with glasses too, with no fogging. The quick release feature allows you to take a drink without completely removing the mask.If you're in doubt about the sizing, I'm not a particulary large human, and the large size is perfect. I suspect that the medium would have been too small.

I'm just a hobbyist that needs a respirator from time to time for all sorts of things from paint and solvents to insulation and sawdust. My old respirator was still working fine up until the elastic gave out and the filter cartridges would no longer hold into the respirator body.When looking for a replacement respirator, I didn't need anything fancy and was looking for a good value. Something that wasn't disposable, could take different cartridges and filters, that would last many years, and was comfortable to wear for hours at a time. This 6502QL respirator was ticking all of the boxes so I ordered it.Once I got the respirator and started fitting it up, I realized just how long I had been going without such nice features like the down-firing exhaust vent and quick latch. The down-firing exhaust vent helps minimize me blowing anything onto surfaces that I am painting or staining. The quick latch is super handy as I no longer have to remove the head strap or unlatch the neck strap to take off the respirator during quick breaks. Simply undo the latch and the whole respirator hangs below your face while being quick to hold against my face and re-latch again. It is quite the time saver and means I don't have to worry about whatever is on my hands or gloves getting into my hair or all over my neck!On top of those two super handy features, the comfort of this respirator is excellent. It isn't perfect, no respirator is, but my face doesn't get too hot, it seals up easily without too much pressure, and I can go hours with it on my face without hating it.Overall, I don't know if a better value respirator exists on the market. For the price, this one sure would be hard to beat. I can't recommend it enough!

I got this primarily to handle spray painting, but I’ve also used it for many other things. Pool chemicals, for example. I no longer have to hold my breath when I open the pool shock container, and my wife can use bleach in the bathroom without me worrying.The quick-release function is awesome, and the main reason I selected this one. It functions flawlessly and a flip of your finger releases the tension enough that the mask releases from your face and hangs free a couple of inches down. When you want to put it back on you’ll need both hands, but it’s a simple matter of placing it back and flipping the latch back.The mask itself is more comfortable than my old gas mask, and although it’s only half-face it seals just as well. The silicone feels good and fits well on my average sized head and face.It’s easy to change filters, although the first time I thought I might break a tab off. Once you get over the small bit of resistance filter installs take, you won’t think about it again. The mask is very sturdy and well built, as you would expect from 3M.The respirator works with any 3M or 3M style filters, but my favorite accessories are 3M part numbers 501 and 603. You can use these parts together with 5P71 cotton filters, or just pop the 501/5P71 combo over your 6000 series cartridge for a pre-filter. Any way you use it, this is a great mask.I have no regrets with this respirator. Great buy.

delivered as promised fantastic service and great product enough said.I work with glass and a lot of dust.Along with the force 8 mask respirator both do the job no smells, no leaks,air tight seal just wanted to get a drink with out removing the whole mask and walk away from the contaminated area to communicate.
