If you are an Ironworker and climb rebar regularly these are for you. The chain has a slight braid on it so it slides well. All steel so yes a little heavy but the hook won't get bent like aluminum ones. 22" imo is perfect.

I am a steel man using this is not safe if you cut with a quick cut saw you could cut it and Fall to your death buy one of these that have chain. I like the red colour though. If you're not using this with a quick cut saw then it'll work fine for you

After reviewing and testing and wearing this excellent product and item for climbing towers, trees and what have you. This positioning unit is a must if you do a lot of climbing in good to bad environment conditions,it can save your life and I always depend on it and my other equipment's. Always check them before doing and climbing. I use it for climbing street poles that has no electrical high power lines on it ,just for amateur radio antenna's . I use for climbing all types of towers from Rohn 25,45,65,hex tower and crank ups when the whole sections are down in the safe position to climb.

I like this positioning device because it is lighter and less cumbersome than the ones that use chain. I use this when working on my free standing 50' tower as it allows me to be in close to the area I am working in without trying to adjust the length or point of attachment for my around the tower strap. I also use it when ascending and descending the tower to take a rest or to readjust my climbing strap.

The harness I bought to use this with was actually CHEAPER than this item... but I need use of my hands while working on antenna towers. Just the right length for me. Hardware feels good. Not to be used as fall protection blah blah blah.

What can i say, it's up to spec, meets my safety requirements, documentation did not apply to what I bought, But I will trust my life to it. Has inspection tag and SN. Made in USA.

I used this to allow me to tie off to a TV tower while I was dismantling the bolts. This device allows you to lean back securely and use both hands to work on the tower. Not a replacement for tying your harness off with a proper fall protection lanyard!

MUST HAVE for any Ham who climbs his tower!! Easy to use. Very secure. Great addition to the standard exoskeleton belt with the longer wrap-around clip. If you do not own one, you should!!!
