I do not recommend this purchase based off poor quality and expensive price. The alignment of the bones is off. The ribs are a soft rubber and the metal support bar is pushing down on the ribs. C1 does not properly rest agains skull and will turn 90 degrees. The loop on top of the skull to hang it is also a bad design. I trusted 3B because they are reputable but I think I would recommend a cheaper model from a another company over this one.

The model is great if you don't have much space. I already have the life size bendable 3b Scientific skeletal model and recently wanted another model with the muscle origin/attachments represented. Its a little awkward around T1/1st Rib and probably because this is miniature so in scale the head seems a bit larger but overall I like the model. Need to specify that I use the models for art reference.

Not sure if this is supposed to be a human or not. The skull is completely wrong. It's almost as if they cut out a portion when they made the removable skull cap. There's barely a forehead on this thing. The The cervical vertebrae seem too small too because the mandible is almost touching the sternum. The ribs look wrong too. I don't think they pay much attention when assembling these things. I think most of the problems come from shoddy assembly. It's all held together with metal wiring. I'm guessing they over tightened some things because the clavicles point downward and the scapulas are also low. This makes the ribs look huge. I wouldn't complain so much if I could just take it apart to fix things, but it's a huge pain due to the way they use the metal wiring. Each joint is attached with a metal wire and then the end of each wire is coiled to stay in place. This means I would have to uncoil every single wire to change it. It's easier to just return it.The only reason it got 2 stars is because, aside from the obvious problems, the bone detail looks really well done. So if all you need is detailed bones, this will work for you.

Great over all detail, proportion, excellent design and sturdy construction.The spine consists of separate vertebrae and (clear rubber type) disks.The spine components are joined by a metal rod that runs from the sacrum to the top of the skull.This construction allows spine rotation, it does not allow flexion and extentsion.Hook at the top of the skull unscrews to allow removal of the skull and adjust any "slipped disks" that occur with manipulation.Skull can be separated into mandible and two other parts to reveal a detailed inside.Ribcage and sternum are one structure.Scapula and clavicle are separate structures but fixed in place by wire.This limits full range mobility of the shoulder girdle butgreat glenohumeral joint mobility.Great elbow joint mobility. Design allows ulna flexion and radius rotation/flexion. Decent wrist joint. A spring mechanism allows hand flexion and extension.The carpals and hand bones are all one structure. (This model can only demonstrate "jazz-hands")Very good hip joint mobility.Sturdy knee joint , flexes like its supposed to.. The patella and femur are one structure.Tarsals and foot bones are all one structure. Foot structure joins the base of the tibiaby a rubber type rod to allow moderate dorsi/plantar flexion, inversion and eversion. Rated on what was paid in relation to what was received.Overall impressed with this item. Great value.Would have liked to have mobility of carpal,metacarpal and phalanges-but would have expected to pay more for the extra design and construction as well.

I am very happy with purchasing this skeleton from 3B. The only thing that would have made it perfect, would have been movable, detailed hands and feet. This was not available in this size. Love the size, big enough as a study object. I am a Massage Therapist and former nurse, and use this to further educate myself. Love the details in this skeleton. Great buy!

I purchased this skeleton because I have had good experiences in the past with 3B products. In this case I was particularly attracted to the flexible spine as it would allow me to demonstrate certain things in my self-care classes.However, in actuality the spine was totally rigid. So I now have the added hassle of having to pack it back up and return it. Thus one star less for not being as described and one star less for having to return it. Otherwise it is beautifully made and a great size.
