About this item

  • 100 FEET REMOTE CONTROL BATTERY DISCONNECT SWITCH. 100 feet remote battery kill switch used for 12V equipment that not in use, prevent battery from parasitic drain or as a theft deterrent. Convenient FOB remote control, no need to open the hood to disconnect battery, just a quick button push. The remote is preprogrammed and ready to go out of the box
  • HEAVY DUTY / HIGH CURRENT DEVICE. High current rated to 200A Continuous / 1000A Crank Amps. Enough crank amps to start your car in cold weather. This is a high quality solid state relay with a remote control receiver circuit built into it. This switch lasts 3-4 times longer than an ordinary relay switch. ZOZOMOTORS uses high quality & durable parts only. The current draw of this switch (the remote receiver) is 0.001 - 0.005 AMPS while connected. it's very minor
  • VOLTAGE 12V, FLEXIBLE CONNECTION WIRE PROVIDED FOR EASY INSTALL EVEN IN TIGHT SPACE. You can use the provided 2AWG connection wire or copper bars to easily connect the switch to your battery (3/8" diameter hole). Recommend install on the NEGATIVE SIDE of the battery. Installation on the positive side is also allowed. This switch can be used to disconnect 12V system including cars, trucks, RVs, boats, and other equipment

The red and black wires power the remote receiver in the relay and should always go to the positive and negative battery poles respectively. One side stud terminal of the relay goes to the negative pole on the battery, and the other gets the negative wire from the car
  • REMINDER. This switch is to disconnect power directly from the battery, electronics that store data, like your radio, will lose memory. California users must keep the battery connected without activating the switch for several days before a smog test

Product Description

ZOZOMOTORS Heavy Duty Remote Battery Disconnect Switch

remote battery disconnect switch side post kill switch

Specifications:

  • Condition: 100% Brand New
  • Voltage: 12V
  • Continuous Amps: 200A
  • Cranking Amps: 1000A (enough cranking amps to start your car in cold weather)

How many Amps do I need?

It’s critical to check a battery’s CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) rating. It measures a battery's ability to start an engine in cold climates

An engine will need about one amp per cubic inch of engine displacement. For most vehicles, this means between 250-600 cold-cranking amps, depending on the size of your engine. For most L4 V6 V8 engines, it needs about 600-770 cold-cranking amps. Larger or commercial vehicles may require more

  • Current draw of this switch (the remote receiver): 0.001 - 0.005A
  • How to use: Wiring diagram included in package, or as per product image 4

Recommend INSTALL ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE of the battery. Can be installed on the positive side if needed

1. One stud terminal of the relay is connected to the negative post of the battery, and the other gets the negative ground wire from the car

2. The red and black wires power the remote receiver in the relay and should always go to the positive and negative battery posts respectively

Red Wire - to Positive Post

Black Wire - to Negative Posts the negative wire from the car

You can use the provided 2AWG connection wire or copper bars to easily connect the switch to your battery (3/8" diameter hole)

IN CASE YOU NEED TO INSTALL ON THE POSITIVE SIDE:

1. One stud terminal of the relay goes to the positive post of the battery, and the other gets the positive wire from the car

2. You can reverse the black and red wires on pin 85- & 86+

So that the negative side 85- is connected to the red long wire that connects to the negative battery post. And the positive side 86+ becomes the black short wire that connects to the positive post of the battery. (NOTE: You can reverse the wires but you CAN NOT switch the polarity which is 85 pin connect to Negative post, 86 pin connect to Positive post)

Package Included:

1x Installation Instructions with Wiring Diagram

1x Relay Switch with Wire Harness

2x Remotes

1x Side Post Adapter 3/8"-16 Thread

1x Connection Wire 2AWG

2x Connection Copper Bars

1x Bolt 3/8"-16 Thread

2x Relay Mount Screws

I recently had my engine rebuilt and somehow, a gremlin has taken up residence in my car. It has been draining all the power from my battery, while it's not running. Since we got this sweet little kill switch, I simply turn it off, using the remote, each time I park the car for a while. An added benefit is that it is a theft deterrent. I will be taking the car to the dealer soon, so they can expel the pesky gremlin, but I may still keep the kill switch. I kinda like having the extra deterrent against and would be car thief.

I bought this because we have an old car that the battery runs down in a day or two if not driven. After trying to read the instructions for some time I tried to install it.After an hour with no success, I asked a relative to look at the instructions. He said I would never get it to work using these instructions and wrote a out different one for me.With the new instructions I was able to install it in about 15 minutes. It works very well and the battery always seems full now and has every time I start the vehicle for over a month now.

Got this for my aunts car, it's an older car. The car has an issue with the security system and requires a dealership trip (not cheap for dealership work) that my aunt does not want to pay on a car she treats like an old truck. So I installed this a few weeks ago to keep the battery from dying as pitting in a new battery, checking alternator, cables, grounds etc and a new battery will go dead in 6 days if you don't start it about every 3 days. Put this directly on the battery post and been going now about 4 weeks. Overall easy to put on if you have the space. Personally my space was great for the device just not great for hands and tools as well.

Failed design, they certainly never tested this.DONT BUY IF YOU HAVE A C4 CORVETTE. NOT WORTH THE HASSLE, AND NO CONDIFENCE IT CAN HANDLE THE CURRENT DRAW OF A C4. MAJOR REENGINEERING NEEDED TO EVEN ATTEMPT AN INSTALLTION.The entire reason you would choose THIS product instead of one of the MANY kits that cost LESS THAN HALF is because you assume that this kit is engineered for versatile installation various different vehicles that use a SIDE POST BATTERY.Well, nope.1) The screws to insert into the side-post battery terminal are WAY TOO LONG. A side post battery terminal connection has a very shallow depth before it bottoms out. The screw HAS to be short in order to tighten it down, or else the screw will bottom out. I had to use 4 LARGE WASHERS from my own parts bin just to "make this work" simply because they choose a screw length that COULD NOT POSSIBLY WORK. Thus, the first evidence that NO ONE FROM THE SELLER-MANUFACTURER ACTUALLY TRIED TO INSTALL THIS.And NO, I do not recommend stacking 4 large washers in-series with 100A+ of current! That just shows right away how poorly this kit was "designed". They just tossed in some cheap parts and gave no thought or testing at all as to whether something as basic as the battery screws WERE THE PROPER LENGTH.2) No confidence that the relay is "better" (ie higher amp rating) than the cheap kits. THE RELAY LOOKS *IDENTICAL* TO *ALL* OF THE CHEAP KITS WHICH COST LESS-THAN-HALF-AS-MUCH, AND THOSE OTHER KITS ONLY RATE THEIR RELAY FOR 100A (500A startup). So this product's inflated rating for the relay seems highly suspicious in my opinion.3) The ONLY thing that distinguishes this kit from THOSE THAT COST LESS THAN HALF AS MUCH are the two cheap copper jumpers. That's it. Apparently that is what they feel makes it a "side post battery" kit. Complete joke.4) And those cheap copper jumpers certainly are NOT oriented in any way that can possibly allow a LOGICAL, NEAT, PRACTICAL installation of this unit unless you have a LOT OF ROOM in front of your battery, which is NOT THE SITUATION in many cars. Certainly NOT in a corvette, not as this kit is supplied. If they insisted upon using the same cheap relay module as everyone else seems to be using, instead of reengineering the relay to intelligently mount ON A SIDE POST BATTERY...then you would need a LARGE selection of copper brackets, twisted various shapes and sizes, to TRY to make this turkey fly....But turkeys cant fly ("WKRP" TV show reference....!)5) Most laughable is that the red positive lead has NO WAY to be connected to the positive side-post battery terminal. The red ring connector is far to shallow to allow the car's side-mount positive connector to screw into the side-mount battery terminal. So again, THEY NEVER TESTED THIS OUT. Which means you AGAIN have to re-engineer it -- which in this case, means you will have to find another source for the +12V instead of at the Red battery post. Apparently this problem was overlooked because the design WOULD work with a TOP POST BATTERY. Thus, again, more evidence that this is just one of the cheap top-post-battery kits with 2 copper jumpers tossed into the box.ALL OF THE ABOVE DEFEATS THE PURPOSE OF BUYING A KIT THAT WAS **SUPPOSED** TO BE DESIGNED FOR A SIDE-POST BATTERY.In summary, the entire kit is just one of the cheap kits that costs less than half, and they threw in 2 copper strips. NOTHING ABOUT THIS KIT IS ENGINEERED FOR A SIDE-POST BATTERY except those hillbilly 2 copper strips.Totally flawed design, defective out of the box. Save your money. Junk.
