They repel 2 legged creatures. smh Smell is horrible but a watched a mouse jump directly where i had them place. May be good for a garage, basement or anywhere humans are spending much time.

These do seem to be effective; I get mice every winter and gave these a try after one died in my wall a few weeks ago. I threw one of these in the crawl space near where I think they get in from and I haven't seen any sign of mice in about 3 weeks; unfortunately I can only put it in the crawl space because my wife feels sick when she can smell this if we have it in the living area of the house. Tried putting one in the kitchen and one in the garage but she couldn't stand either of those and we had to move them. I still expect to get good use out of them in the shed and hiding one in my fire wood too.

I got this repellent as we've been occasionally having issues with mice in our garage that most likely resulted from the shipping container company we used when we first moved into our house. We have traps out there that have been working fine, and I think we've gotten rid of them for the most part, however I was looking at more of a preventative measure to prevent them from coming back. Making our garage uncomfortable for them. This is where these mice repellent packs came in. These came in a large green box with 48 sealed plastic packs with the repellent tablets and small white mesh bags. Surprisingly after I removed the shrink wrap on the box, I was immediately able to smell the tablets, which isn't super unpleasant but has a musty chemical smell. You can't smell the peppermint, lemongrass, or cedarwood advertised on the box and mostly I'm assuming the Mica minerals mentioned on the box that make up 95% of the tablet. They're a little flaky and getting them into the mesh bags isn't all that easy, so you'll want to ensure that you're wearing gloves while handling these. I'm not sure about the claims for other pests like spiders but so far, our mouse traps haven't caught anything else, so it seems like these might be working. I'll likely need to give it a few to several months to see if these will work. So far, based on what all you get for the price, these seem like a great deal. I'll update if anything changes.

Last week we had a brutal arctic vortex bring some pretty cold days down her in Florida. Some creatures are pretty clever and know how to push up a soffit to access a person's attic, to evade the brutal cold. This rat evaded my spring traps, which normally is very humane and effective as I bait them properly, but some rats are clever. I'm sure I could have caught him with glue boards, but glue boards are evil. So I got this product to repel them going forward. I distributed it in places I thought it could hide in the attic and soffit, & It seems to have worked, and the rodent was evicted.>Short Update>One more quick update 2/5/2025 These worked so well, I can catch a whiff of it outside. I have two large peanut, pistachio, sunflower and walnut feeders I have out back so my three indoor cats can watch the wildlife from their 77' screened lanai. I adopted them knowing they all had autoimmunity issues. So these ex ferals must stay indoors, or on the lanai. Normally I'll have a wayward squirrel or even a confused young raccoon stray onto my roof. Not since I put these in my attic to evict palm rats. Nothing likes this smell, and that works for me.

I got these anti rodent smell balls because I live out in the country where there is abundant wildlife and I needed help dealling with them. Recently I had an invasion of rats so I had to trap them. I found an excellent small galvanized cage that I could catch them live and relocate them away from homes. My wife expressed her extreme displeasure in my kindness to rats. She thought that they could find their way back home even two miles away. I had to find another way to deal with them. In my search for their homes, I discovered the new damage they had done making their homes. I also have squirrels that our family enjoys watching because they are so cute and playful. I have been having trouble with a squirrel chewing holes to gain access into the attic of my chicken coop. I say all of this because I have been looking for a way to make my life easier. In reading the product description, it appears that these are made with several strong smells of different oils. When I opened the outside box, I smelled a powerful smell though they are individually wrapped. My box did not come with any directions stating if these are safe to handle, although the product desciption does say that they are safe for pets. I cut open a white, red, and green ball. Each ball smelled the same strong smell that at first wiff reminded me of mothballs., although these do smell better than mothballs. These are so strong in smell that I was so glad I opened and quickly sealed them back up into a ziplock baggie in the back of my home. Personally, although the product description states that people could use them inside a home, I would not dare use them inside my home. I am glad they are strong in smell because my pesty squirrel that keeps chewing holes in my chicken coop has met his match! I will be able go put a ball or two and then be able to seal up his new entry hole. With these, I think I have finally found a solution. I will also be using these in the attic of my shed. I will just have to air out the shed when I need to enter. I also am in a ministry to help elderly people in my church. A widow continues to be plagued by rats and mice that want to live inside her home. I will put several underneath her tiny home. I say all of this because I plan to give an update in the future as to how long the smell lasts and if they work as designed. The box comes with small, cloth pouches to hold these so they could be hung if wanted. These cost about a dollar per ball so they are a little pricey, but have a nicer smell than mothballs. Although the product description states that these can be used to keep mosquitoes away, I will not be puting them anywhere near my home. The bottom line is that these appear to be a workable, humane, safe, and convenient solution to deter rodents.
