I have never used one of these before and I really was not expecting something so big and kind of unwieldy. Unfortunately, there weren't any instructions in the package and so I had to go online to find some instructional photos.The wire rope was easy to pull out and lock in place. Then rotate the handle on the other end to rotate the rope in the sink. Then, it was just as easy to unlock and reel the rope back in. I'm thankful that there was a pair of gloves included.Also included were two other tools for removing clogs in the drain that are close to the mouth of the sink's hole.This is one of those tools that you hope to never need, but it is good to have around the house. The 33 foot length should be more than enough to get any clog out without needing to call a plumber.

First lets just clarify what an auger does- It's a piece of metal that rotates around in your drain lines and clears a clogs. It has long spring coil line that can be fed from a storage container.I can confirm that the item I received is indeed an auger and it does in fact work exactly like an auger should as I have used many in my life. Yes, there are no instructions included with this kit for the same reasons instructions are not included with a starter tool box kit. No, this auger does not have a nice metal bin for storing the sludge covered line. This is a basic plastic model... but personally, I'd rather not waste my money on something I'm shoving into a sewer line anyway.This is a great value. You get the auger, the zip line cleaner, the grabber, and gloves all for less than the price of a name brand auger. If you can't clear the clog with these tools, you probably are in way over your head and need a professional anyways. Would I order again? Yes. Absolutely. Multiple times.

I have a shower drain that will get clogged with hair once or twice a year. The plastic snake will help you with most sink drain issues and if that doesn't work, the the auger will take care of the job. Didn't have instructions but with being a homeowner for 40 years, I didn't need them. Well worth the purchase!

This is a great deal! For under $30 you get a little auger, a clog remover tool & hair grabber?? Plus they threw in a pair of gloves. This is great for anyone starting out. Everyone should have a little set like this, you have everything you really need here, the metal auger that comes out & actually goes down the drain is the big thing & you have it. Will there be things that will be out of the scope of this sets capabilities, sure, but, this set will get you out of a lot of pinches! I think this is a great deal!

I found the tool set to be quite average at best. It feels cheap and not very durable. The tools are substandard and seem to be intended for limited use only. I wouldn’t recommend it for regular use; it’s probably better suited for a just-in-case emergency.

This auger belongs in one of those junk Handyman tool kits that first-time homebuyers get. This arrived already broken because the housing of the auger is made of hollow-chocolate-Easter-bunny-thick cheap PLASTIC. The packaging wasn't damaged, so this was busted of its own according in shipment. This is definitely not the metal housing of my father's and grandfather's tool kit. This is a pretend tool. Garbage.

This drain snake auger seems to be fairly durable. I used it to unclog my sink drain and it worked well. The little plastic barbed drain cleaners that were sent with this broke off when I tried to use them first. It was very difficult to reach and remove the broken off piece. This auger is a good length at 33 feet. Instructions would be helpful for those not familiar with using this type of drain auger.

My shower always gets clogged so I thought I’d order this snake drain clog remover. It’s very heavy duty and professional looking! My two problems with it are there are no instructions for the 33 foot snake and I’ve never used one before so it took me a bit to figure out. The other problem is the orange plastic barbed snake broke off in my drain the first time I used it which just made the clog worse. I would only recommend that for light clogs and not for any drains with curves. The other two pieces are made very well. I think it’s a great deal for what you get.
