Heavy duty material and construction. A solid set of three expanders covering a wide ranges of pipes up to 3 1/2 inches or 89mm. The bolt takes a 17mm socket to tighten it down the cone to expand from inside and you should use a 1/2'' ratchet to drive it gradually, instead of an power impact which can speed up the process but difficult to control. Each expander has a pair of replaceable o-rings and the kit comes with a spare pair for each (6 spare o-rings). Overall, the tools are sturdy and heavy duty as expected. The storage case is sturdy too. I don't see a problem expanding exhaust pipes and others with similar sizes and thickness.

I can't say I'm some sort of exhaust expander expert, however, I have seen the cheapest of the cheap and I've also seen good name brand ones. I'd call this set a mid-grade set. The case isn't all that special. From my experience with this style of case, if you actually lug it around or open/close it regularly, it'll end up splitting down the middle. But if this is an occasional use item for you, you'll be fine. The actual expanders look and feel fairly nice. They thread in/out smoothly. It's hard to tell what the quality of the steel is without really pushing them, but they do appear to be higher quality than my HF set that broke the first time I tried them.

Living and working rural, when we do exhaust work, it is sometime easier to order in exhaust parts from the internet rather than than from one of the jobber shops in my area that take over an hour to get there and back. This is especially true when the parts are for applications that scream, "You ain't from around here, are yah?" Smile. Trouble is when a part shows up banged up or just doesn't fit (which just happened) and an exhaust expander is needed to expand a pipe to fit or to make a damaged part "more round."These three exhaust expanders will fit most common gasser exhaust systems. You will need larger expanders for many diesel applications, but the expanders that come in this kit are common for passenger vehicles and the expanders themselves are well made. Even better, although I do not show it in my two photos, the kit also comes with an extra set of O-rings for the expanders since O-rings to break with age and use. Nice!
