I have been looking to get a Spam cutter for a while, but never got around to it until I saw this kit.The cutter itself is ok, but on mine a couple of wires are not perfectly aligned with the slots and are close to the slot wall, but this is not a big deal. The base's plastic is pretty thin and flexes though, and the wires themselves are very thin and not replaceable. Essentially this just means that you have to use slow, even, pressure when cutting, or you may break a wire if you try to zip rapidly through what you are cutting. In practice the thin wires easily cut through the Spam better than thicker wires.I was expecting the molds to be thin and flexible as well, but they are actually quite thick, stiff, and durable, making pressing the rice quite easy. I have also made several other masubi style concoctions with these molds with different ingredients and layering, and they worked very well. They held together very well with the pressure I was able to apply with the mold. Definitely way better than hand-shaping them. The little rice paddle feels a bit on the weak side but did the job well, and was the perfect size to get down into the molds.I have put all of the parts through the dishwasher a couple of times with no rust marks or warping, making cleanup a breeze. This is a great little kit especially at this price, and I definitely recommend getting one.

This is a pretty cool set, the musubi modes are so accurate and the slicer works great , allowing all of the spam to be cut with the right amount of precision/adequate and equal parts. 🤗🤗

I bought a musubi press about a decade ago. It works well. However, it also required me to have additional tools (e.g, knife and rice paddle). I opted to get this musubi press to see how well it would make spam musubi. Besides, I wanted a setup where I can make musubi with some friends.This musubi press set did not disappoint. It has two musubi presses and a spam slicer along with a rice paddle. The latter is used to scoop the musubi into the musubi mold before using the press to push the rice down. I thought this is where the musubi press would suffer in comparison to my original musubi press. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it did just as fine a job of pressing down on the rice as my original musubi press.The reason for my surprise is that my original musubi press is made from thick and heavy plastic (acrylic?). This press uses thinner plastic, which I thought would be flimsier. However, the plastic proved sufficient to press down on the rice evenly. This matched up well with my original musubi press.Additionally, because this musubi press kit also comes with a small rice paddle that is conveniently sized to match the musubi molds, it means scooping rice into the molds was that much easier. Similarly, because the musubi press kit comes with a spam slicer, it means I could slice spam into uniformly even pieces (without a knife!). The drawback, of course, is that this means the thickness of the spam slices could not be altered but was set at the predetermined thickness. Still, the thickness is comparable to my preferred thickness so it's not a problem.Final score: 10/10; Would Recommend!

Its so much easier to make musubi with this set. It comes with a spam cutter to evenly to cut it. I was worried it would be too thin but its perfect. Theres 2 musubi molds that perfectly fits the spam. Its bpa free and easy to clean. It also comes with a cute mini rice ladle.

At the time of this review this item was priced at $7.98.The Amazon post advertise this as a "2 PCS Spam Musubi Press Mold Kit". Technically the package includes a SIX pieces - SPAM slicer, Rice Paddle, 2 Mold forms and 2 Presses.A SPAM Teriyaki can introduced me to Musubi. I was suprised SPAM didn't promote the Musubi mold press. I created my own mold by cutting the bottom of a SPAM can.The slicer cuts the SPAM into 6 pieces. I prefer a thinner slice, so I use a knife and slice the SPAM into 8 pieces.I only need the plastic mold and press.

This mold kit inspired me to want to make Spam musubis for the first time! The slicer results in 9 consistent Spam slices from a 12 oz. can; the compact rice paddle is an appropriate size for filling the mold with rice; the mold press successfully compresses the musubi into a well-formed shape and allows for ease in removing the mold. Fun and easy!

I grew up in Hawaii, so spam is a "guilty pleasure" I indulge in fairly often, not just in musubi, but also in stirfry and fried rice dishes. My kit did not include the rice paddle, but that wasn't really of concern to me as I have several already. The molds themselves are pretty standard plastic, open-ended molds in the shape of a spam slice with a tamper to press the rice, spam, and any other fillings together. I feel the molds were fine but not of exceptional quality. What I do really like so far is the slicer - I used it for slices for half of the spam block, the other half I used for fried rice and I was able to turn the sliced spam 90 degrees and use it to cut neat and even matchsticks. I also plan to try out this slicer with fishcake and other similar textured foods. We'll see how durable it proves to be, but in my opinion the slicer is worth the price of the whole kit - and honestly, the main reason I bought it. It's not *hard* to slice your own spam, but it is not as easy to slice it perfectly evenly as you might think! I hope it lasts!

This kit is easy to use. The slicer easily slices spam for the mold which makes the perfect musubi. Each piece is made of high quality plastic and the slice also has high quality metal slicing lines. The rice paddle is easy to use to get the perfect amount of rice in each mold.
