I have a Kobalt router from Lowe’s and a Hercules router from Harbor Freight. These adapters won’t work in either. They fall all the way down into the collet. Even raising and holding them in place I can’t tighten the ½” collet enough to tighten the adapter in either router. I paid $10.99 to get these shipped next day and they are useless to me. Quite disappointed. Plan to return.

Replacements for colletts I have been using for 20 years. These are great after-market colletts, fit well and hold the router bits well.A lot to like.

Compared to the name brand options this is a steal. 1/3 of the price for a well made and fully functional product. I would have preferred a ridge on on end to keep them from slipping into the collet but that’s not a big problem.

Looking at it I didn’t realize why it looks the way it does.. but once I got everything put together, made total sense.I got a nice round edge with the router and bit I had - the adapter worked perfectly.

Good thing that they were sold in a pair. One is perfect and the router bit fits nicely. The other Collet Reduction Sleeve is just too tight. One has to force a bit in and I would think removing it would be a challenge. Now they are well made.A few reviewers mentioned that they were too tight and they are right. I got lucky as at least one was perfect while I assume some got two bad ones. Not sure why the factory does not check each one before they go out the door..

These do NOT go in right away when they arrive. You have to fiddle with them a bit to get the router and the bit in sync to where they are both tightening properly with the collet sleeve. But, there are so many different routers out there, I'm not surprised.

Great for the price, but needs some work to use.Unlike the stock photos, what I received were very rough machined with pitting, horizontal grooving, and even a plane sliced off near the edge as seen in the photo. The inside is even more rough with grooves / spirals all the way down. They also do not have bevels on the outer ends and are straight cuts. The inner edge at the ends at least are beveled, although again very rough.I got these since I have some bits that are 6.335mm shank that don’t fit in a 1/4” collar I already have (which fits the 6.315mm shanks I do have) and figured I get some cheap collars to modify. I had to measure the bits with a 0.01mm caliper since I was bewildered why some 1/4” bits fit while others didn’t. Oddly they fell into two sizes across several manufacturers, differing even within the same maker. These collars being very rough don’t even let the “slimmer” 1/4” bits as described above through smoothly, although with a slight push or sanding of the inside it works fine.Great as a starting point if you intend to modify them from the start, but if you have quality bits these will scuff up shanks and probably won’t hold them with the same force as more expensive ones. At the least, it will be unevenly secured due to the massive grooving and may lead to forming grooves on the router bit shanks over time as well.
