The springs are really weak, with very little "spring" to them; mounting hardware is cheaply made as well.

The kit worked well and replaced the broken clips that were completely gone. Was a little difficult to install, a diagram or something would have been helpful, but I figured it out. This saved me from going out and buying a new ladder.

I used this on my old Werner extension ladder. When it was all said and done, it does work OK. However, there are no instructions with the kit. At the very least, an illustration of how everything works would have been useful. There are little white plastic washers that appear designed to be used as grommets to hold the spring in place. I only figured this out after at first trying to just use them as a washer. Anyway, the spring sits in the grommet too tightly and cannot overpower this to rotate the flippers. I finally disassembled everything and didn't use them. My original ladder did not have any grommets, so I figured it wasn't that important. Once I got rid of the plastic grommets, the flippers worked fine.
