very good product for the price. Easy to use, screen is big enough. Used on 2nd day I had it, buying a used car, we said heated seats were not working right, dealer said proably ok, I said hold on a minute, got camera I just bought, shot car we were buying, shot car we came in (has excellent heated seats)- showed several dealer guys, they said "schedule a day next week and we'll fix it"

This review is for the 256X192 Higher IR Resolution HT-18+ Handheld Thermal Camera from HTI.I purchased this item on Aug 5, 2024.A big plus for me is that I can (if the need requires) change the battery. There is a cover on the handle that I can remove to get to the battery if it ever needs to be replaced. I don’t know how long rechargeable batteries last.The thermal camera, holster and other supplies are well made. Everything came in a nice box that has a magnetic lid for easy opening and closing, and I decided to keep that box to store my thermal camera in when it’s not in use.The image quality of the monitor is excellent. The button layout is user friendly. I’m a homeowner who is busy insulating my home and the shop that I built and I would definitely recommend this product.

Caméra thermique très sensible qui vous change de celles où l'on ne voit qu'une palette de couleurs. Avec cet appareil on distingue très bien l'environnement. Comme beaucoup sans doute, j'ai posé ma main sur dives articles, quelle que soit la matière, l'empreinte de la main apparaît nettement à chaque fois. De plus, la caméra était en promotion pour encore une heure, j'ai donc eu droit à un très bon rapport qualité/prix. Mais même à son prix actuel, je recommande cet article.

HTI thermal cameras have the similar specs to Fluke, FLIR or Klein for a fraction of the price. For the novice user this price difference is what matters most. I use this handy tool sporadically. It has multiple uses, although I have yet try it out on a ghost hunt!!The HT-18+ has a large 256X192 image size that is better than most and it records video! The large 3.2" screen size and 2000mAh battery make it very usable in the field. The 4GB internal storage is plenty. The HT-18+ only connects via USB. No removable SD card or Wi-Fi connection. The "IR Image Tools" Windows software is great for reviewing images (too bad there is no industry standard for Thermal Images). If you are a Pro users you can get it factory re-calibrated every year.

Excellente qualité apparente de l'imageur thermique HT-18+ pour un prix modique comparé aux appareils similaires sur le marché. L'ergonomie est bonne, la finition de l'appareil est impeccable. La sensibilité thermique NETD est spécifiée à moins de 40 mK sur la page Amazon de l'appareil et à moins de 50 mK sur sa notice. Quel est le bon chiffre : 40 ou 50 ? En tout cas, les images m'apparaissent suffisamment nettes pour l'usage que j'ai fait du HT-18+ depuis que je l'ai en main.Tout fonctionne bien, conformément aux spécifications, notamment la liaison USB-C USB-A entre l'appareil et mon ordinateur macOS.Par contre, il n'y a pas de logiciel d'analyse pour macOS alors qu'il y en a un pour windows. J'ai dû compenser ce manque en développant mon propre logiciel d'analyse à partir des images jpeg fournies par le HT-18+. Mais ça demande du temps de développement et c'est approximatif à cause du recalcul des températures !Je veux bien comprendre qu'en raison peut-être du prix de vente modéré, le fabriquant n'ait pas pu fournir un logiciel d'analyse pour tous les OS. Cependant, à défaut de ce logiciel, le fabricant aurait dû rendre disponible pour tous les utilisateurs les informations nécessaires à l'analyse. Par exemple : en même temps qu'une image thermique jpeg, enregistrer sur la mémoire flash un fichier contenant le tableau des températures pour chacun de ses pixels. Cela ne demanderait que très peu d'effort de développement de la part du fabricant que d'enregistrer de tels fichiers de températures pour une taille approximative de 100kB chacun.Concernant l'interface utilisateur de l'appareil, les menus ne sont pas très intuitifs ce qui oblige à consulter la notice avant de pouvoir utiliser les fonctionnalités de base. Ainsi, quel est l'intérêt d'avoir une touche "ENTER" et une touche "SELECT" qui semblent avoir à peu près la même fonction ? Comment expliquer que pour répondre "YES" à une question, il faille appuyer sur la touche "MENU", et pour répondre "NO", il faille appuyer sur la touche "SELECT" ? Ah si, j'ai trouvé la raison : il faut appuyer sur la touche qui est sur la même verticale que le "YES" ou le "NO" affichés sur l'écran 🙂Il ne me reste plus qu'à espérer que cet appareil puisse durer pendant plusieurs années.

It's just not really sensitive enough for my needs on repairing automobiles. The heat range is a problem. You have two options. 0-240 or I believe 240-1000 or so. Catalytic converters run 1200-2000 degrees. It just shows "over" and loses the color pallet. These normally cost $12-1500 so I should have known, but it was worth a try.

This camera comes in at an attractive price point. It is pretty accurate and has some useful features such as making video files. The form factor is good although the plastic feels hard and cheap like ABS. The screen is readable indoors but totally washed out in sunlight even at the highest brightness setting (called "Intensity" in the menu). The cable is a micro USB to USB A and appears to be somewhat special. That is, several other similar cables would not connect to a computer even though they would charge. Contrary to another review, I have had no problems accessing the internal storage with a Mac running Ventura 13.1 (22C65). It appears as a FAT32 disk.Now comes the real problem illustrated in the two attached photos. One was taken of the A/C vent at a distance of 10 feet. The other was of a flashlight at a distance of 18 inches. See how bad the parallax is for the flashlight? This can be adjusted. The manufacturer knew it would need to be adjusted frequently since this adjustment is the first menu item. Get used to accessing it. You will use it a lot unless all your images are at about the same distance. Why this happens is shown in the 3rd image. There is approximately 32.5 mm of offset between the optical sensor on top and the IR sensor on the bottom. Too much!I also don't like that the battery is not easily replaceable. It is an 18650 but it is wired to a JST plug. If you are good with soldering, this is no problem. If not, better hope that cell lasts a while.Not having removable storage is a negative. It appears that the firmware for the device is on the same internal storage that images and videos are stored on. Being FAT32, this could become corrupted rendering the device unusable.Last negative is the fact that the quoted temperature span is achieve with two ranges. The high range is very high and would not even be suitable for working under the hood of a car.In summary, the device works and is reasonably accurate but a low price has been achieved by some significant compromises.

I evaluated 5 other thermal cameras costing under $330 and found this to give the best and most consistent images, even better than the FLIR cameras for smartphones. The FLIR used with an iPad gave the biggest but not clearest picture.The application I selected this camera for is to examine automobile wiring. The shape and size of the camera makes it handier and easier to use than using smartphone-attached thermal cameras. Also, some hand-held cameras like this one took time-outs to refresh the image every ten seconds, often taking 2-3 seconds between views each time it refreshed.However, this camera gives a constant image with no time-outs, and has a very efficient interface; to take a picture of the image, you click the trigger twice and the image is stored, ready for download to a laptop or desktop system. Handy and effective, I chose this one for use with my new invention.This camera delivers the bang per buck in the $330 and under category.

Die Kamera funktioniert sehr gut, das Bild ist von sehr guter Qualität. Sehr gut verarbeitetes Etui ist im Lieferumfang enthalten. Ein großes Plus für den Akku, er lässt sich austauschen. Alles Super !!!
