- This is a good, general purpose 24V power supply. But just make sure you are aware that it is an AC (alternating current) power supply. It is NOT a DC (direct current) power supply. You do not want to mix them up or you could do damage to your equipment. It can only be used with compatible equipment. The only way to know is to look at your device and make sure it specifies 24VAC and not 24VDC. It is that simple.

I make a lot of start/stop switches with contactors and relays, most of which operate on 24VAC. I use rectifiers to convert some of that current to DC, if needed. This is capable of 1000mA, which is more than enough to trip the coils and illuminate the LED’s for my project. This particular wall wart has a lot of weight to it. It can be opened if needed. It is also certified, but not UL listed. It is also rather large, almost 3 inches long, and 2 inches deep. It arrived in a cardboard box in excellent condition.Cheers.
