You’d think 27% of reviews being negative would be a hint to Hunter that this product needs an update, special trouble shooting literature, or an emotional counselor’s hotline for frustrated customers to call. I could not get this product to connect, and I worked in IT. It would try to connect, even flash green for a while, but fail to actually connect software to the unit. Tried for an hour and realized, with the rain sensor being able to kill the program, I really did not need to control it remotely if setup was this hard. So I returned it. Until they fix the app, website, and X2’s ability to pair, I’m not interested. Boooo Hunter.

Works great for our irrigation system. Now I can control our irrigation system with my phone. The app is free and there's a learning curve if you are not too techy. But once you set up everything, it does the job well. The app also give you reports of your water usage/savings.

It took me about 4 different tries to connect it. I finally restarted my modem and it recognized the Wand module. Now that it works, it’s great.

Hunter has done an outstanding job with this one. Simple, fast setup. When Bluetooth is pairing for the first time, the 6-digit code it's looking for will be shown on the X2's LCD screen. The iOS app and the web UI are well done, clear. You can walk around in your yard, turning sprinklers off and on with a touch on your phone.Buy it! Best $132 or whatever it is you ever spent. Last detail: if you tell it to, it will upload whatever programming you or your landscaper have loaded into your X2 to the Hydrawise web backend, from which you can run it via WiFi. Pretty sweet. The hissing of summer lawns, to quote Joni Mitchell.

It took me a long time to figure out how to get the wand connected to the internet. I could get the controller connected, but not the wand. There are 3 ways - (1) bluetooth which didn't work, (2) SAP mode which didn't work, and (3) Pbc WPS mode which finally worked. in addition to pressing the black button on the wand, you have to press the WPS button on your router. Go to X2 troubleshooting on the support.hydrawise.com website for help. Most of the setup instructions and illustrations are for other models. I haven't actually used the app functionality yet, but am hopeful it will be easy based on other buyers' comments.

I purchased the WAND through a local dealer which ended up not working. So I ordered another WAND through Amazon and the second one didn’t work. I returned it for this 3rd WAND. Guess what, it doesn’t work. I am now going to disconnect the Hunter controller altogether and go with a different Brand.
