These Tellegloww Hanging Scales are made of a thin metal on the round scale area. When I tapped the metal there is some give and a very hollow sound. There is nothing particularly wrong with this metal being thin but don't order this scale expecting a heavy-duty scale. The scoop is made of a thicker metal that is more suited to this type of tool. The chains hold on both the scoop and the scale as expected. The scale weights are very accurate. I am using the scales for decoration purposes and don't expect them to wear out under those conditions. If you are needing a hanging scale for your business or continual use this scale will suffice. I wouldn't count on this scale lasting for a number of years, but it might hold up for a few.

Numbers could be larger. Didn't like kilograms, was confusing to customers. Thought they were not getting the proper weight.
