I ordered these socks following my two week post-op after having Achilles/bone spur surgery. I am in a tall, five strap, medium size Breg softGait air walker boot and needed socks that would come up to the top of my boot or a little past the top of the boot. I received my order this week and just tried one today. These socks are a nice thickness but not too thick. They don’t make my boot feel too tight but they do not come up to the top of my boot. They stop just under my calf muscle which is about 2 inches shorter than I hoped. Also they are almost too tight for me. I’m 5’5” and plus size. These are snug and were a bit difficult to get over my heel with the incisions. I had to gather the sock from the top opening and bunch it all the way to the toe then pull with both hands to stretch the opening out. The material doesn’t have much give to it. I got it on with help and cleared the surgical site. The top of the sock fits around the bottom of my calf but just barely. They will work fine for my short term needs but I would not have ordered these had I known they would fit so tight and are shorter than what I was looking for.

Extremely well made, approx. 1/2-3/4 as thick as the "free" sock that came with my boot, but with better elasticity. Other boot liners I've used seem like an after thought compared to these.

My life is better, put this sock on, and Immediately my foot felt better in my boot. I have a broken foot , it is now supported by the sock not slipping in boot, it reduced my pain!!!!!! Buy them!!!!

Just the right amount of comfort while wearing an orthotic boot. Not too thin, not too thick, and the toes are perfect. I bought another style of sock and the toe seam is very thick and sticks out like you have 6 toes! I will definitely buy more of these if needed.

When the order was placed I thought, for some unknown reason, the socks were made of a thin material such as the doctor had provided for me when I was placed in the walking boot. These are very nice socks and will be welcome once I am able to venture outside in the cooler weather.

I had ankle surgery on both sides of left ankle. A boot was placed at most recent Dr appt. The flimsy sock they placed under the boot was not enough padding and the boot keep rubbing my incisions. These socks were awesome,such a relief. No seams and does not make you feel like there is no ventilation.

I purchased these because they came up in a search for thick orthopedic socks that cushion after surgery and while wearing a boot or surgical shoe, and I wanted black rather than white. These are much, much thinner than described. I'd love to return them and think that this is a false description. If you are looking for proper cushioning with surgical incisions DO NOT get these socks.
