Carbon monoxide detectors, along with smoke detectors, are an essential safety item for your home. You're also supposed to replace them every few years, and the ones I had were overdue to be changed. I was pleased to find this two pack, which also detect natural gas and propane, and monitor temperature and humidity levels. They are very simple to use - just plug into any outlet. They take a minute to set themselves up, and then they are basically no maintenance. You don't even need to change the batteries, which is a huge advantage over most smoke detectors I have had. You are supposed to test them (they have a test button) periodically. They are large enough to be easy to read, but small enough to be unobtrusive. I was able to put on one each level of my home, and I am very happy with them, and glad for the added security they provide.

I picked up these Carbon Monoxide Detectors for added safety in my home, and they’ve been a great addition. The setup was simple—just plugged them in, and they’re ready to go. The combination of natural gas, carbon monoxide, propane, and methane detection adds peace of mind. The display is clear, and the alarm is loud enough to grab attention without being overbearing. I appreciate the compact design, which doesn’t block other outlets. These detectors are a practical and effective way to enhance home safety.

Plug it in, and it just works. Great to have this keeping a monitor going.

We’ve placed these two detector units in our utility room (gas dryer) and in the garage (near the gas water heater); they provide us with a sense of safety since they can detect both gas and carbon monoxide. The units also display humidity percentage as well as the temperature—but our purchase was for the gas and carbon monoxide detection features. These alert both with a light as well as a (very, very!) loud tone. We know because there’s a “test” button; trust me, it’s loud! The units plug in to an electrical outlet so you don’t need to fuss with batteries or replacing them. Be aware, though, that means you won’t have this alert system working if your power is out.I like the clear display and the small size. You could even take one with you in your travel bag, if this kind of alert would make you feel more comfortable in hotel rooms or other settings.

This Carbon Monoxide detector is well thought out. The ring of red lights (see pic) is very visible when the unit alerts. The display shows detected levels as well as temperature and humidity, which aren't particularly needed, but nice none the less. The brightness of the LCD is perfect in daytime as well as night. It doesn't light up the area around it. The black background of the screen helps with this. The big miss here is a battery backup. This wasn't a deal breaker for me, but may be for some.Overall, I really like the unit and would recommend it if you are ok not having it work if the power is out.

So my vent free gas fireplace has been on the fritz and has on a few occasions not lit completely/ properly. So While I figure out why I decided to pick these up as a percaution even though the fireplace is not used unsupervised. Long story short even though it mounted on the wall less than 4 ft from my fireplace, when it didnt ingnite properly and filled the room with the strong smell of gas this detector still read 0 traces of gas or co2. Perhaps the detector needs even more gas in the atmosphere but it was a very strong odor and enough to require doors and windows to be opened. Other than this I do like the temp and humidity readout and form factor as well as the flashing red light which it displays while slowly calibrating after plugging in.

These seem to work accurately from what I can tell. They state to be good for 2 years so I dated the backs with sharpie marker as a reminder. These have an easy to read lit digital display for the areas temperature in Fahrenheit, the relative humidity percentage as well as the PPM (parts per million) and LEL (lower explosive limit) carbon monoxide and gas.Once plugged in it will “greet” you with a friendly voice and then will start to display numbers and in up to 30 minutes should be completely calibrated and all set to take note of your readings. These state they measure temperature from 1° - 176° F (excessive maybe but no problem), humidity range of 0% - 99%, CO detection range of 0-1000ppm and combustible gas range (LEL) of 0% - 10%.The alarm isn’t super loud (only around 85 decibels) but this does flash red lights with the alarm which I’m glad for. This has an easy to reach testing button on the top side and the plug prongs can be rotated and taken off by pushing a small button where they are seated and rotating them as the arrows show. I thought this allowed them to be positioned sideways (for different positioned outlets) but I wasn’t able to get them back in any other way but up and down due to the metal prongs they need to connect to and how the tabs fit so I’m unsure why this feature is added. It’s there all the same should you for some reason want to perhaps store this with the electric prongs taken off. I’m not sure. Regardless these are nice alarms that I do recommend. I have a battery operated one as well for backup in case of power outages but that one doesn’t show room temp or humidity so these are great to have for those added features.
