We've used slow feeders for years with our four cats because two of them have this pavlovian reflex when they hear the dry food getting dispersed and come running, like they haven't eaten in days. These slow feeders will slow them down. The ones we've had forever sit on the floor, though, so it's not uncommon for our two largest to gorge themselves, turn around, and throw it all back up again on the floor. This has helped solve that problem. The design is more bowl-like than the floor ones we had, so they help catch the kibble that gets scooped up into the mouth and then immediately falls right back out. They're about half the size of the floor ones, too, so I don't actually put out as much food, which is good. If it goes empty, too bad, I read that cats can fast. They're a decent weight, so I'm not afraid at all about them moving or falling over. I think these are really going to help our cats stay healthy because throwing up can't be fun or good for their system. I've started elevating everything they use-- their wet food bowls and water dishes, included. Getting two just solidifies that they're a good value for the money and my only loss is what to do with the floor models we have.

These raised food bowls are a much healthier way for your pets to eat, also if they tend to wolf their food down the bowls are designed to slow your pets down when eating. The bowls are well made and look great but be careful they are breakable if dropped.

I really like these slow feeder bowls in theory but less in practice. First, I will note that one feeder shipped almost instantly within a day or two. It didn't even hit anything or bump up next to anything, so really unsure how that happened. But I will keep an eye on it because I definitely don't want my kitty eating any paint. Other than that - they look great! The color is beautiful and they seem pretty well made (minus the chip). For me these aren't really working. I put wet food in one - and it's a pain to wash and clean around the design. The design is there to act as a slow feeder, but in our second bowl, we put our cat's dry food and the design doesn't slow him down even remotely. I think because it's ceramic and smooth, the dry food just easily floats around and there's no challenge for my cat to access the food. My dog's slow feeder (by a different brands) is designed so the food falls into cracks and gets a bit hidden so it's really effective for slow feeding. Anyway, these look really lovely and perhaps I'll just use them for water or something else, but I don't think they're right for my kitty.

I ordered these bowls for the pig that is my 8 month old kitten. A couple months ago I got him one for his dry food, but ordered these bowls more for his wet food. I like they are more "cat sized" and are ceramic. These have a good weight to them and are very sturdy. The height is exactly right for most cats. The biggest benefit is they really slow down my boy's eating. Having him take longer to finish his food helps so that he doesn't vacuum his and then go try to steal his brother's. I'm able to wash these in the sink or in the dishwasher. The biggest downside to these bowls is that they don't have anti-slip/grippy bottoms. Yes they come with silicone mats that you can put underneath them, but that's just one more thing I have to worry about washing and keeping track of. It would be better if these had a silicone layer on the bottom that kept the bull from sliding, but wasn't a separate piece. Because of that, it's more of a 4.5 star rating than a five, but overall these are really nice bowls, they're well made, they clean up easily, and they have helped my cat to not be quite as much of a hog.

These are elevated so my smaller cat is right at the perfect height but my bigger cat does have to keep his head down a bit to use. The cats are definitely eating slower, which is great because sometimes they get excited and eat their dry food too fast and then end up bringing it back up. I'm hoping this improves their health a little, as my smaller cat is slightly overweight from eating so much so fast. My only concern with this is there is a little heart shape in the middle of the bowl that can make the bowl appear "empty" to some cats by making an empty middle area. Mine don't seem to be bothered by it though. The green is dark and a nice color and the ceramic seems good quality. I quite like the fluted bottom, which makes it feel a little upscale. The shallowness of the bowl is great too--I had shallow bowls previously because whisker fatigue can cause cats issues, so this is a great upgrade for my two kits. I think these are a great value for the price.

Cats don't like their whiskers touching the bowl, so a wide shallow dish is perfect. Elevating the food allows for easier swallowing. The raised interior parts are supposed to help slow your cats' eating down. If you have a cat (or dog) who scarfs down food and then vomits from eating too fast, this could help solve that problem. The green color is really beautiful. I like that they're ceramic because it's easy to clean and dishwasher safe. I use a clean bowl with every meal to prevent infections in my senior cat from bacteria. Dishes are washed after every meal, so being easy to clean is a huge bonus for me. I will only use ceramic, glass, or stainless steel bowls. I will mention the diameter of these bowls is more than expected compared to some other bowls I have. There's nothing wrong with that, just mentioning it in case you're looking to use this for a small dog - it is slightly larger than a normal cat dish so you could definitely use it for small dogs, too. I would say it's better for dry food if you're using it for a cat. Dry or wet for a dog, since dogs are more likely to lick up all the food and not waste any like my cat!
