These worked, my only issue is that they did not grip as tightly as I would have like when there was no tension on them. This made them a little more difficult to use as a one person operation.

I use these attached to my boat lift cables during low tide when the bunks bottom out and the cables become slack. The cables will unspool themselves without pressure so this works like a charm. Sandbags clipped on these hold tension on the cables preventing any slack. Easy to adjust up or down.
