The 1Zpresso K-Ultra has exceeded all of my expectations as a manual coffee grinder. From its sleek iron gray design to the thoughtful engineering behind every part, this grinder offers an outstanding coffee experience. The carrying case is a nice touch, making it perfect for traveling or keeping it safe in storage. One of the standout features is the foldable handle, which not only saves space but feels sturdy and comfortable when grinding. The external numerical adjustable setting is incredibly precise, allowing for seamless adjustments between different grind sizes. Whether you’re grinding for espresso or pour-over, the stainless steel conical burr delivers a consistent grind every time. It’s clear that a lot of care went into the build quality. The grinder feels durable and solid, and the overall grinding experience is smooth and easy, even when handling tougher beans. Plus, the disassembly for cleaning is simple and hassle-free.If you’re serious about your coffee and want a portable, high-quality grinder with consistent results, the 1Zpresso K-Ultra is an excellent choice. Highly recommend it for coffee enthusiasts!

Vergeleken met de ZP6 minder clarity maar meer sweetness. Bouwkwaliteit top! Van espresso tot cold brew zeer goed.

Purchased after a ton of research, used primarily for filter coffee, manual espresso on weekends (primarily macchiatos)The k-ultra is a best-in-class hand grinder capable of excellently uniform grinds at a huge range of sizes.I upgraded from a Timemore C3 and immediately noticed a tremendous difference in my cup. This grinder is capable of achieving extremely chocolatey and extremely fruity cups with ease. It's a hand grinder, so the best results aren't as repeatable as an automatic, but the highs are higher and lows aren't that low.Magnetic catch cup isn't nearly as worrying as I thought it would be in person, (that's not to say I haven't managed to spill it.)parts are of high quality and easy to clean, disassemble, reassemble, and zero.the handle part does get slippery after only a little use but it hasn't popped off during grinding for me, it's just looser than I'd like, not an issue though. After a few months of heavy daily use, I haven't noticed any deterioration of any of the parts except the aforementioned top bit.The K-ultra does its job grinding fine enough to dial in espresso, and coarse enough to dial in filter coffees. I've tried with everything from turkish to french press, (and everything in between except moka pot and siphon) and can confidently say it's good enough for all methods. I'm sure I could get 2% more quality from a 2k+ automatic monster but I'm more than happy with this thing. It's easy to crank and doesn't take too long even for large doses of espresso.Although thanks to Lance Hedrick I'm slow feeding now which more than doubles the grind time (but OMG the clarity.)

Bought this product as a gift. On arrival the adjustment ring for the level of grind would not move. An online search showed that this is not an uncommon problem with this model, but it seems most people could make it function eventually. Because I bought it as a gift, I did not want to damage it and so I returned it without any issues (although still waiting on repayment of shipping costs). Hopefully future reviews will be able to tell whether this problem has been fixed.

Well designed for ease of use. No problem disassembling for cleaning. Visually the grind appears consistent though I did not do a particle size analysis. Grinding felt easy at all settings I've tried so far (5.5-8.5). I am using it while traveling and have found it fits perfectly inside the plunger of an Aeropress XL. Yes, it will weigh a bit more than some travel-oriented grinders, but if you're going to be bringing coffee gear with you anyway the weight differential is probably insignificant. Magnetic catch cup works perfectly. Operation is of course almost silent compared to any motorized grinder. It is expensive but it delivers consistency. It feels robust and precise.

This is my second grinder to replace my cheap grinder, the HEIHOX, which uses common burr found in many grinders like Timemore C2. The quality and ease of setting the grind level is the best as mentioned by other reviews so will focus my review on taste and if it's worth the upgrade.I have done tests between the two grinders using Aeropress and the results led me to conclude it all comes down to what you like. The cheap grinder gives sweeter and fuller body but less clarity, meaning no separation of various taste notes. K-Max tend to produce lighter body but more clarity because you can taste all the various flavors such as fruity and floral notes in fresh Ethiopian. If you like Ethiopian, then K-Max is great. I like having both grinders to be able to change things up but I enjoy both. Some have said it's easy to clean and calibrate. I'm very technical person and I can tell you it's not that simple. You need to read and follow directions precisely. I ended up locking it and had to send it to 1zpresso to unlock it. At first they weren't going to cover the cost but did so after I showed them that following their instructions caused it. They agreed and they updated their instructions since after they asked me to review it. I have to say they did a great job supporting their product and they're very friendly to work with, which you won't get with cheap grinders. Is the K-Max worth it? Definitely! Its smooth and fast operation is the best so grinding experience is more enjoyable. It's preferred for high end coffees because it is able to better extract flavor nuances from the beans while giving pleasant grinding experience.

I have a Sage Barista Express espresso machine and have been making lattes through lockdown, 2 each day, so easily over 1,000 now. I started to actually want to try espresso on its own and couldn't really nail it. I would go for a finer grind and choke the machine, but when it was on the edge and pouring slowly over 30 seconds it still tasted thin, not much crema, and also sour, which means under extraction. Making a latte with these was fine as it was still strong coffee. So, I did a lot of research on espresso grinders and this seemed near the top of the tree in hand grinder territory, and especially one that can do it all. It is very expensive, but I really wanted the flexibility for making espresso, aeropress, v60 and French press drinks. I can definitely say that the espresso grind from this, going through my espresso machine is night and day. The coffee grinds must be much more consistent as the coffee oozes chocolatey viscous liquid into the cup in a way it never did before. The taste is finally thick and full of flavour and not sour. So, it does exactly what I had hoped. The grinding is also fairly easy, it's not effortless but it took way less time than I feared, around 30 seconds which is kinda fun to do while the milk is frothing. And as a bonus I can take my aeropress to work now and grind beans fresh, no more ground coffee that goes stale. Quality coffee guaranteed as long as you have beans and hot water. So, yes, it's expensive, but I probably couldn't be without it now, and I know I'll get years of use out of it. Changing grind size is beyond simple, the magnetic cup holder is very nifty and the quality is as good as you would hope. It's portable enough (the case is pretty big but still very easy to put in a rucksack) and the only real flaw is the price, but it is genuinely top quality. Buy nice or buy twice.
