Old fashion mill. Still the best. I’m using it to grind poppy seed. It’s adjustable and easy to clean.

It does the job. But takes a while to manually grind stuff, so consider that.

A good, solid, well designed grinder. So far I have only used it for grinding flax seed. It does this well and I can recommend it for this purpose, but it should work well for all the uses described on Amazon.

Does not grind well. Hard to keep on the counter top. It took 15 min. to grind 4 oz of soybeans. It is a lot smaller than it looks. The hooper only holds less than 1/4 oz of beans. The seller says it is not for soy beans but the description says quote Wide Applications-- Excellent for grinding Dry grains, corns, spice, coffee beans, sesame, coarse salt, black rice, SOY, mung bean, barley, buckwheat etc. also could mill dry chili and pepper and herb. It is not recommended to grind materials containing oil like peanuts.

The lack of a hopper is a small issue that we solved by cutting the neck off a creamer bottle. A little tape....would like to see them come out with a real attachment but this is fine. For the money I am happy.

I bought this in case I want to grind grain without electrical power. I've only trial tested it. Seems to do well. Easy to use and clean. Doesn't grind as fine as it might, but it should be good enough.

This hand-operated grinder is a nicely-made product that fulfils the function for which I purchased it - namely, grinding flax seeds for my morning muesli. As noted in other commentaries, the grinder does not do its work quickly. I wouldn't advise trying to speed things up by forcing the seeds through, as it increases the temperature (which adversely affects the nutritional qualities of the food you're grinding); you'll end up with flax butter instead of ground flax seeds. For my part, I am happy to take a few minutes to grind my flax seeds. Compared to grinding them with a mortar and pestle, as I used to do, this hand-cranked grinder makes the job much easier. Would an electric grinder be faster, and give a more uniform result? Sure. But it would also make a good deal more noise...That said, there are three design shortcomings that I would like to see the manufacturer correct :1) When inserted in the grinder, the grinder insert's shaft is about 3-4 mm too short, where its flat-sided section engages with the handle.2) A durable plastic washer (plus 1 or 2 spares for replacement) should be provided, to be placed between the handle arm's connecting end and the base of the grinder, to cushion the metal-on-metal contact.3) The total length of the shaft should be increased, so that most or all of the wing nut's threads are fully engaged. Currently, the shaft's total length is too short by 5 - 7 mm for that (or 8 mm, if a washer is added).Nevertheless, I vastly prefer this grinder to the choice of an electric one. Overall, it seems well made; I expect it to be durable, and I expect it to outlast any electric grinder I could have purchased. It is fully recyclable (save for a few plastic add-ons). It does not need electricity to operate. It is less noisy than an electric grinder. And while the feed hopper is, as other reviewers have noted, very small in capacity, this must be weighed against the advantage that it is small and won't take up much room on your counter or in a kitchen drawer. It is made for grinding small amounts of beans or seeds by hand, and for this it has been well sized. One final note, the product was well packaged for transport and arrived in good shape.Overall, the CGOLDENWALL Manual Grain Grinder is a great product. They could make it even better by giving a little more attention to the rules of good engineering (-:

It works well. But the nixtamal does not go through unless you press it down with your thumb. It was clearly not intended for nixtamal.
