Purchased this a few years back for camp and have used it for moderate sized logs which was useful. I would not purchase this product again however for multiple reasons that I'll list.Pro's1) low cost2) easy to assemble and break down if space is an issueCon's1) sloppy feel with the thumb on top (the thumb has a lot of lateral play which should not be the case)2) Thumb hinge is very poorly designed and the weld actually broke from what I consider moderate use only

Got a big log? Need to cut it up with your chainsaw? Is the log inconveniently located on the ground? Then you'll need to lift it up so you can keep your chainsaw out of the dirt. You could use a tractor or a forklift. But maybe you are out in the woods where your tractor won't go. So get one of these things. You can lift a pretty flippin' big log with it, making it safer and easier to cut it up.Well, mostly safe. I should warn you that this kind of tool could be dangerous if not used correctly. Like, if you lift up a log and the bar doesn't seat well, the log could fall back down, whipping the handle around while you are in the middle of cutting the log. Not that that happened to me! But it could have! Fortunately, I foresaw this possibility and took appropriate measures. Ideally you should cut logs with a friend who can look out for you. As an aside, the manual for my chainsaw says not to use a chainsaw alone. They don't say why. Maybe it is because you might be using a Log Lifter. Finally, if cutting up logs in the woods is a situation you encounter frequently, you'll want to get a more premium model than this one. The main downside of this thing is that the handle comes in two pieces so the manufacturer can fit everything in a small box for shipping. The pieces screw together ok, but they like to come apart. Maybe some Loctite? I think I'll just weld the pieces together. But I shouldn't have to do that! I want to cut logs not weld tubes.

This works very well. I use it to cut fallen trees in my heavily forested back yard. Saves my back and from running my chainsaw into the ground.

I'm not a big guy. I weigh about 160 lbs. If I was able to bend the shaft of this tool, I think that says more about the poor quality of it than my similarity to Arnold S. In fact, it bent the first day I tried using it. In addition to bending, the fit and finish left a lot to be desired. The handle screws together, and it unscrewed under load. The moving parts were loose, and would have benefited from $.02 worth of washers. Take a good look at the image showing the thickness [or rather thinness] of the tube. Functionally, though it could lift a log, it didn't grip well, and wasn't stable. To add insult to poor product performance, when I contacted the seller, twice, and waited several days, they didn't even have the courtesy to respond. And when I tried emailing them at their listed address, it bounced back as not functioning. Take your money elsewhere, don't buy this poor quality, underbuilt tool. I sent mine back to Amazon for a refund. There's no reason to think a replacement would perform any better.

Happy with it. I'm not a lumber jack in need of a more professional tool so...Came undamaged with all the parts, and all wrapped in bubble wrap with no dings or scratches. Solid and sturdy material, yet fairly lightweight. Comfortable and serviceable length. Welds look good.It works fine for the size logs it is advertised for. I need this with the downed trees on my property and to save both my chain saw chain from the ground and my back from extra wear. I don't expect this to work well with oversized logs or very heavy stuff, so I am not going to abuse it by trying.First try and use was a log that is 15-16 inches across and 3-4 feet long, medium weight wood. Handled it well and got the end off the ground nicely.I will add washers inside the slot for the "T" jack/log rest and also the claw piece, to eliminate the sloppiness of the joints. I may add pipe inside the bottom section also to prevent bending should the need arise.I do wish the "T" was a bit wider by a couple inches for better balance but it also depends on the length of the log a bit so. The longer logs are actually more stable. :)

This is well made for the cost. Easy to use and will hold up fine as long as not overloaded. The handle is two pieces that screw together. Its heavily made- but not my preference to have a joint that could losen so ill probably weld it. I'd definitely order this again.

This has been a very helpful tool for cutting up logs. Very well made and works well. As long as you are reasonable with what you expect this to lift, it performs well. I wish I would have thought to press a hardwood dowel inside the high stress part of the tube before my son tried to pick up a 20 foot x 16” dia log in the middle. It only slightly bent the tube. It had no problem picking up that same log closer to one end. Very happy with the way it works.
