What the title says. Though this has both left and right RCA channels, when plugged into my computer only my left channel on my speakers plays any audio. This is built relatively cheap, and I doubt it is good for any high end audio even if both channels did work properly.

VERDICTRecommended. BUYWHYThis does what it says. I use it to connect a new OLED TV that does not have analog audio out to my hifi stereo system. With this, I use the optical out port on the TV and connect it to my audiophile Dynaco hifi system. The device is low power enough that I can power it from the TV's USB ports.* BONUS *While this is not described in the product description, the instructions talk about bluetooth. This device lets me stream music from my iPad or iPhone direct to my Dynaco hifi and it sounds good enough. I can't believe this bluetooth functionality is not listed on the Amazon description.

It does the job, not hi fidelity, sort of a one note bass but it does what it’s advertised to do.

This is perfect. I have a media player which interfaces with my PC to play music stored on my household SAN. This is the perfect bridge I needed to interface the player to my home stereo. I cannot perceive any loss of fidelity or strength in the signal. I highly recommend this.

This DAC converter works just as expected. Setup was straightforward and it provides clear audio without any noticeable lag or distortion. The included 7ft cable is convenient for flexible placement. If you need a reliable way to convert digital audio to analog for devices like HDTVs or Blu-Ray players, this does the job without any hassle!

I'm going to sound like a hype beast over this thing, and so I apologize up front.I have a vintage stereo system that I use to play vinyl records only, and I wanted a way to stream Apple Music to it through AirPlay and not Bluetooth. I didn't want to spend a lot of money, so I bought a second-gen Apple TV that has an optical output on it on eBay and this DAC to go between the Apple TV and my stereo. I had my fingers crossed because I didn't know how it was going to sound, and boy howdy was I surprised. The sound was amazingly clear, noise-free, and sounded great. I was blown away. This little DAC is powerful, and I can also connect with Bluetooth with it. There are some things on my phone that will not work with AirPlay, so I have to use Bluetooth. And by the way, if you use Bluetooth and watch a video, the audio and video sync up perfectly. With this DAC, I can use whichever mode I want. I just can't believe that something that sounds this good and works this well can cost so little. I highly recommend it!

This audio converter came with a nice instruction sheet, easy to understand. It also included a USB cable for power and an optical cable for flat screen Hi Def TVs that have audio optical out. The unit doesnot have any HDMI connection. With the optical cable you set your TV's audio setting to PCM and it should work. You can only use this digital to analog sound converter with an amplifier or sound bar that has L and R RCA inputs. It will not power external speakers without an amplifier.Properly set up, the unit works fine.Lastly, the instruction book provides phone numbers for technical support and customer service, which is a nice touch these days.

I had used this to allow myself to connect my projector to my AV receiver. The projector proved itself to be the problem over the long haul. No matter what I did, the receiver would just not take the audio. I even tried plugging it into one of my Vizio soundbars and the projector was definitely the one not playing nicely with others.I tried with TVs and other audio sources and this adapter was fine. You want to keep in mind the age of the product that you adapted and do some testing with an optical cable first to mitigate disappointing results. The product itself is quite nice. I liked that it lights up during use, which let's you know if it's unplugged or not seated firmly and let's you do some immediate troubleshooting.
