I got it as an alternative to google chromecast audio that may soon to start disappearing, even in used form. This extractor works great chromecast Hd and 4K, but its analog outputs volume is about 65%. It is not just means lower volume - it also means lower dynamic range of the audio. Analog output has no "circuit" noise (present on some inexpensive converter when operating), but it sounded narrow and compressed, so if you are looking for HDMI to analog audio, you need to keep looking. The good news - the optical digital output is at 100% (full dynamic range) and it is clean as a whistle. it means this unit extracts the 2ch digital audio from HDMI stream and just passing it to the amp, no messing around with audio data. I was comparing it to WIIM pro and found no difference in audio quality on optical out.

I have a very high end curved monitor that only had hdmi. A dts headphone jack and usb inputs strangely enough. Running my ps5 I wanted sound so I got a Vizio sound bar that would only work with hdmi arc, took that back and bought a better lg 5.1 system with hdmi and optical inputs. This little box did the trick HDMI comes in from the ps5 optical goes out to the sound bar, and hdmi to the monitor. Sounds great and no lag.

In my quest to obtain digital surround sound to my receiver from streaming, I came across this gem. Highly recommend the use of this with your Apple TV. ( my sound goes to my theater receiver while the high def video goes to my projector.) LOVE IT!The set up was so simple, so simple that I even doubted that it would work as intended.Great product! .

I wanted to be able to peel off the sound from my HDMI cable that I was sending to a Monitor with no speakers. I am not doing anything fancy so I'm just using the 2 channel L/R output and not the fancy SPDIF output with its fibre optic cable.Everything worked really well. The HDMI has no change in quality (though I'm not using 4K resolution, so I cannot comment on how that will work. The sound has been perfectly fine using the analog outputs. I was using a speaker that was using a 3.5mm stereo input rather than the red and white RCA connectors that are used for the output. I had to search to find where I had one buried in an old electronics box, but I did. I wish this was included, but I guess there are many different configurations that people may want. The power cable is the only thing included, so be sure that you have what you need to make this function.Overall, it works as it should and exactly for what I needed it to do.

I have a newer tv that only has HDMI and Optical outputs, so setting up a good speaker system without a bulky receiver has been an issue. I was excited by this audio splitter, but once I got it plugged in and running, I realized that this intermediary device prohibited me from adjusting the volume with my apple tv remote (I also tried with a roku just to double check). I was able to get the main tv remote to work for this but for a streamlined setup, having one remote to control apps/options and a separate one just for volume just doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I ended up returning this Avedio and went with a bluetooth rca adaptor which solved this issue completely.

I recently started using my Dell G7 Gaming laptop to DJ with. Being a Windows machine, it has been a journey to learn how to get the best performance for delivering the best and most stable audio performance using Serato DJ Pro. But I noticed when I ran iTunes playlists or other sounds out of the headphone jack into the aux on my DJ board that there was a humming buzz sound I had not noticed before. Had a fantastic support call with Dell technicians who shared with me that the best sound source within my laptop was actually the NDVIA graphics card's "HDMI Audio" and suggested I try an HDMI audio extractor device to get the best audio, far superior than that which the headphone jack on my laptop was able to deliver.I purchased this one from avedio links and tried to use it connected to my 4k monitor and no "HDMI audio" source came up in my Windows settings. I reached out to avedio links for support and they explained to me that the only way I can get "HDMI audio" to come up as a sound output option from my laptop was to plug the HDMI cable into either a television or a monitor with built-in speakers.I thought it couldn't hurt with Amazon Prime's easy return process to go ahead and buy a 27" flatscreen monitor with speakers, I chose the "SANSUI Monitor 27 Inch IPS 100Hz Computer Monitor, USB-C FHD HDR Built-in Speakers" (and so far, I really like it). Sure enough, "HDMI Audio" because a sound source option in Windows. So I first hooked up my DJ speakers to the stereo output jack on the monitor, and the sound was good, but noticed when I opened up more than one application, unwanted noise would enter the sound. But then I inserted this avedio links HDMI Audio Extractor Splitter, then connected my DJ speakers to the sound output from the splitter, and yes, my tech support friend at Dell was absolutely correct:I finally achieved superb sound output from my computer!I played Billie Eilish "What Was I Made For" because there's plenty of quiet space in that song and her unearthly pure vocals were at least for me a ready-made audio benchmark test for high fidelity audio. And yes, not only was it the best sound I ever experienced coming out of my latpop computer into my DJ speakers, but when I paused the recording, turned the speakers way up along with the computer volume, amazing, amazing, hell yes, finally, no buzz, no hum, ready go from zero noise to Rave Dance Hall Jammin Powerhouse volume, all because I discovered HDMI Sound using a good, high quality HDMI Audio Spliter, and I'm very pleased that avedio links delivered just what I desired in tapping into the full breathtaking sound my NVIDIA graphics card has been waiting to deliver, and grateful for both Dell Computers and avedio links support for helping me to get there!

I've had this device for several months now and it works well. Video quality is excellent. The only complaint I have is that the level of the audio output is a bit too low. Wish there was a way to adjust this.

This is a great option if you want to connect items seemingly via a soundbar which it will allow you to split the audio from the HDMI signal and send it to either a soundbar or speakers, I use it in conjunction with my projector and it does a amazing job and there is no latency in the audio as well, it very practical in size easy to set up great value for money it’s a must have, pubs and clubs use them as well with their big screen and audio setup as well

We have a Surround Sound System that drives off of a Sonos Box. The Sonos Box requires the Analog Audio Signal in to the System (with the white and red plugs on the audio wire). The Fire Box does not have this Analog Audio output, only the HDMI Cable. So, we needed this Splitter device to split out the Analog Audio to the Sonos Box. After we booted cable box out of the house and only video stream on the Fire Box, we needed to get the Fire Box connected to the Sound System. This splitter device does the trick. I do notice that the sound is low on the output side, so we really have to turn up the volume. But, that could also be because the Fire Box audio output is not very strong? Anyway, followed the installation instructions and everything worked great. You will need an extra HDMI Cable to connect the splitter to your streaming device (Fire Box for us). Picture shows black Fire Box on top with HDMI only, white Sonos Box with red and white connector audio wire, and Audio Splitter. So, HDMI cable out of Fire Box to the Splitter input, then both HDMI cable out and red and white Analog wires out of the Splitter to the inputs of the Sonos Box or Sound System you have.
