It's a good working camera, but the USB that came with the item could not supply enough data/power to let it work on my PC. The only USB I could use was a Quest 3 data cable.

My only complaint with this is how to turn the front light on and off. The button that's supposed to do it will turn it on if it's off (no idea how it was turned off) and will turn the under base and button lites on and off. The front light is on and there's no control as to how bright. The docs don't help. If I ever figure it out I'll update this review. Outside of the front light, it's a great camera especially to put in front of a small light box.

I ordered this for my daughter who takes virtual classes. She has to take pics of some of her worksheets and assignments and this is perfect for that. She can lie the sheets flat for her teacher to view, and take a snap shot to enter them into her portal. It was easy to assemble and connect to her laptop. It’s a little flimsy, but works as intended.

The camera came very well protected in its foam packaging. Looks toy-ish but it’s really a “just shy of 4K” camera (it has a 3820 x 2160 resolution instead of the 4K’s 3840 × 2160) and the build is good. The arm adjustments are working smoothly, and the base is heavy enough to keep the extensible arm stable. All of the buttons on the base do what they are supposed to, but they feel wobbly to the touch.Windows 10 recognized it as an USB webcam without any intervention on my part, and all functions work with Windows’ Camera app. The only weirdness is that the zooming buttons on the camera’s base only work in video mode, for photo and doc scanning they have no effect. Not a biggie. The manual is brief and to the point and pictures are intelligible. There’s also a statement of warranty and a website address provided. The website has an option of English language, though not everything on the pages gets translated, many parts stay in Chinese even when the pages are in English mode. This specific camera has very little info on the website (at least at the time of this review), basically a couple of pictures and no specs, no manual. I expect more for such a product, the included leaflet does have technical data, why not at least post the pdf of it on the website? The camera works very well as a webcam for Zoom and such. Great for the intended purpose: do presentations, show some printed materials as you would do with a projector. Pictures are not bad, though it’s hard to get uniform lighting with the built-in LED. Focusing works well. Minimal control of exposure. For document scanning, the quality is good enough to be processed by some OCR for text extracting, good but far from great for documents with schematics and pictures. As for using as a picture scanner, the quality is no match for a real photo scanner. There is the quality of the focus (for the size, the lens is actually pretty good, just not good enough for this task - see attached photo), and there is also the image noise on any glossy or reflective areas that will not let this setup get consistent, decent results on scanning photos. So, great for what it is intended: as a webcam, and for text documents scanning. Not a substitute for a photo scanner.

This camera works with a Mac. To choose this camera on your Mac, open Photo Booth. Click camera in the menu bar, then choose “MiraBox-223 1000 CAMERA #2.” The arm on this camera is very flexible. The LED light on the camera I received does not turn on.
