I needed a new gas can to replace my 10 year old can used for lawnmower refueling. After reading a LOT of reviews and critiques on the "NEW" safety features that most cans now have, I was a bit apprehensive at what to expect. Good gas cans are expensive (comparatively) and I didn't want the regret my decision. I chose the No-Spill 5 gallon model because I liked the controls for the gas flow. I liked that I could position the spout into the gas tank and then push the lever to start the gas flowing. That way the can is secure and the fuel isn't sloshing in the can while trying to pour. I also like that stopping the flow is instant by releasing the lever, so no more overfilling! Like nearly all new/current gas cans, there is a plastic screen that is used as a 'flame arrestor" in the mouth of the can (where you would refill it). I is known to severely imped ability to refill the can at the gas station (causes the pump auto shut-off to constantly shut off). Many folks are removing it to speed up the refill process, but that should be up to each user to decide and is nearly the same issue with all newer cans. Overall I am pleased with this purchase and really like the controls this can has spill-free refills.

I have been using two 2.5 gallon gas canisters which I had inherited from my grandfather for the past year. These canisters were in pretty rough shape, so I'd manage to get some drips here and there even when using a funnel. Not wanting to continue to waste gas and get pollutants on my garage floor, I decided I should finally invest in a new can.I had looked at a few canisters in various stores, but they seemed to be particularly pricey for some reason, especially for their apparent quality. Not wanting to get another can that leaked, I decided to turn to Amazon for guidance. This can was the first one that came up in search. I figured with so many high reviews that I couldn't go wrong. This was absolutely the case. After filling it up at the pump, the cap fits back on very snugly. It took me a few tries of lining cap back on the rim of the can until I could get it threaded properly, but this is something that should come pretty naturally after doing it a few more times. Even though gas flow is controlled by the green button on the nozzle component, there is still an additional cap which goes over the end of the spout. This does not fit on the end quite as snugly as I would have imagined it should, but it still remained on the end until I got home. When I began to fill the tractor for the first time, my immediate reaction was that it was probably going to take a while to fill the tractor's tank as there is no secondary cap to release the negative pressure on the canister. However, the transfer time was actually about the same, if not faster as I didn't have to worry about the flow rate. There's no adjusting the angle of the can so it pours faster or slower. You put the spout in the tank, hold the green button and go.The fuel button is a little bit more difficult to press than I would have thought it would be. Not particularly difficult, but I'm not sure how well it would work out for somebody with arthritis or another hand injury. I have a slight repetitive stress injury in my hand from working at a mouse and keyboard all day, but it didn't bother me at all. An excellent feature is that the fuel flow will halt as soon as the gas level gets high enough (covering about 1/3 to 1/2 of the way up the spout). I am definitely considering purchasing a second.

I originally purchased two five gallon No-Spill gas cans in 2006. A year or two later, one of the 7/8" white reducing spouts on one of the cans split. I emailed the company and they immediately sent me a new spout as replacement. They stand by their product. Is the can heavy? Yes. But five gallons of anything is heavy. What I like is the two handles so you can grab the can conveniently and easily. I use the long flexible yellow spout extension to fill a machine. This aids in filling an apparatus if you are in an awkward position. The spout extension sticks in the machine's tank and gives the filler some wobble leeway when the can is full. Also, the can empties quite fast. I never tried all the cans available on the market, and I'm sure there may be one that's faster, but I very pleased with the empting speed on the No-Spill. Plus, there is no spill.I decided to buy a third No-Spill can as a back-up. I see they redesigned the white reducing spout. I guess they had some complains about the old ones splitting. Also, I was surprised on how easy the push button worked on the new can in comparison to my current cans. I never realized that my push buttons were getting stiff and harder to push. With that, I sprayed some silicon spray on the rear green push button and it depresses easier now. Not as good as the new one, but much better than they were. I don't know if this is copasetic, but it works. Being that my old cans are five years old, I can't complain.Pros: The gas does not spill. The can empties quickly. The push button is relatively easily depressed, super easy if the can is new. Two handles for convenience.Cons: Eh, after five years of ownership, nothing comes to mind. Except that my yellow spout extensions are sticky to the touch. Not a big deal, but it is yucky.
