I’m going to give this 5 stars even though I haven’t used it yet. My current motor works but I have a concern of what happens if it decides to quit working! So, I got this as a backup. It looks like it will fit fine and others have said it operates their jacks just fine. I’m including several pictures of both the original and comparing the two. I could hook it up to test but I just don’t want to unwrap the tape and go through those steps unnecessarily. I will have this in my ‘spare’ collection so that when the time comes and the current motor fails, I will be able to quickly install this and be rolling. My only question about compatibility is that the legs on this one are skinnier than on the original. I don’t anticipate there being an issue but just something I noticed in the comparison.

I replaced my OEM jack with this one and it has been working just like the original.It was a little bit of a pain to get it lined up, and the wiring almost seems backwards. But once I figured that out it was super easy!Glad I didn’t have to spend $500 on an OEM jack!

This part, “142178 Electric RV 5th Wheel Landing Gear Motor Compatible with Lippert Venture,Landing Gear Motor for Atwood & Stromberg Carlson Landing Gear Systems 5500 lbs, Replace LG-142178 LC-142178 M-9000-PK” works and functions every bit as nice as the original once did. This is an afforadable option and great value, compared to the OEM, which will do the same job as this part—but, for a bigger bite of your wallet.This Landing Gear comes with all necessary hardware. The dust on the Landing Gear, as seen in my photos., is just cardboard fibers and bits of styrofoam, and it’s no issue. The power consumption is what is shown on the photo of the meter; the numbers are with NO LOAD, just free spinning, in order to make sure it works before installing it.It was very easy to install, and it works perfectly fine. This is a great value! If needed, I will buy again.

This is a welcome part, as I have had to crank my 5th wheel my hand as the landing gear motor that was installed with the trailer failed late last fall. Now with this replacement I am good to go camping again.

This is a basic 12vdc gear motor (motor and gearbox) designed to do a specific simple task which it does well. When the motor turns, the gear box reduces the speed into torque no different than your high powered drill does. It is well made, ruggedly built, and replaces the OEM more expensive version for less. Just two bolts to remove and mount this replacement with so not much mechanical expertise involved along with color coded wiring.

Raises and lowers our 5th wheel as well as the original motor (until the OE gave out). Installs like it should except for the wiring. When wired red to red / black to black the motor ran opposite of switch position. Had to run RV red to motor black and RV black to motor red to get correct motor rotation. Unknown if this will have any effect on the motor. If I wasn't in a somewhat emergency situation, I may have exchanged the motor. This may have been one that fell through the QC cracks. Time will tell if it holds up during constant use. 3 stars for the wiring issue.
