2007 BMW Z4. The gear with the splines was the issue. The splines were too large for the cables that attaches to the release hooks.

This set fixed my 07 bmw 650i convertible latch motor. Most pieces didn't fit but thankfully the replacement screw with brass gear was all I needed to replace the plastic gear. Fixed my problem

the long worm gear with the plastic piece broken off is the only thing that fit, as noted by other users I had to reuse the old bushings. The shorter gear shafts splines did not fit, have to either reuse old part or press new gear into old shaft. There is a bit of slop still, so I had to shim the housing where the shorter shaft bushings sit with a little JB weld ~ .015" , which is the thickness of about 4 sheets of notebook paper. Probably could had used paper and super glue as well. Had to readjust to get the hall sensors to make at the proper place for the cycle to begin letting the top down. 3 Stars for not being 100% drop in 2005 BMW 645ci

For my '04 E46 330ci convertible; The short gear that replaced the top latch plastic OEM gear fit perfect & am very glad the gear is now brass not plastic.However, the long gear on the that fits below the short top gear had a closer tooth structure on the OEM one & did not fit (lucky was not broken). Also, the plastic bushings provided were too tight even after greasing up so had to use the OEM ones (lucky were still ok). Still worth it if you only need the top brass short replacement gear.
