Ran some tests on some 1/4" aluminum plate and the mills worked really well. Minimal tooling marks, smooth clean cuts and the mill didn't just go dull or plug up. So far so good!

About as good as it gets for a home/hobby machinist like myself. Cuts like butter and leaves a nice finish, even on my manual mill with speeds and feeds that I'm sure are way off. I'm 100% certain that I'll break it before it wears out.

This is an extra length endmill designed for softer materials, hence the razor sharp edge.To test it, I ran though some Starboard, a plastic they use in the marine industry. Basically a high density polyethylene. The cut I made was selected to use as much of the length of the endmill as possible to see how it performed.Lets just say if I have to mill polyethylene this will be the bit I use. Cutting was effortless and the finish was so smooth it looked like it was extruded. I did not use a fast rpm or feed rate. All milling was done the old way bu turning hand wheels.Others have tried it on Aluminum and had no issues so I left my testing on plastic. Typically this material flows so the edges are never right. Not with this tool. It left a clean edge all the way. Saves cleanup later. If you cut plastics, this is a very fine endmill for the job.Just watch your fingers. It really is razor sharp!

I can't fully review this end mill because it is unusable. Right out of the package, there is a hairline fracture midway up the shank that starts and stops within the shank. Typically when carbide is dropped, it cracks from an edge, so this suggests possibly a heat treatment issue from the factory. Its a shame, would have loved to try it but is unsafe to use.

I set this up to make some deeper cuts on some 6061 using a manual Bridgeport. It cuts smoothly without coolant and actually left a nicer finish than I expected when making deeper pocket cuts. It didn’t seem to care whether they were climbing cuts or not either although my machine (needs some service) couldn’t keep from chattering on the deepest.I’d definitely buy a few sizes of these as they kept clean, stayed sharp through my jobs and are ground accurately enough for my needs.

These are really pretty, just like in the picture. They cut reasonably well, but you will need to pay attention to feeds and speeds as well as material, since they're not designed to cut steel.

This isn't a bit I will need to pull out frequently, but there are times when extra reach is very helpful. This seems to be a well machined bit and the coating seems to be evenly applied. As I wrote in the title, the 3 flutes is a good choice for such a long bit, to allow the thicker core. And it's up cut, which helps with chip removal - another good choice for such a deep cutting bit. This bit is very handy to have available.

Love this mill, it is SO sharp, be careful when handling it, I cut my finger. The mill cuts through aluminum 6061 like it was cheddar cheese on my Bridgeport mill. Highly recommend!
