Used this to cut a custom slot for bicycle spoke wrench out of better quality steel.

Barely touch the material & they just break apart. As you will see in photo it’s the tool that failed. Repeatedly. Will try the last two now. Might be adding two more photos before I return.

I needed to mill a slot in some cold rolled steel, one of these worked well and it doesn't show any wear at all, not even a change in color. The cut edges were not supper smooth, but that is probably due to a high feed rate, sloppy ways, and run out in the R8 collet that I put the end mill into.

These end mills are very high quality. At least as good as any I've used before and far better than the cheaper ones.I'm mainly using these on aluminum and HDPE, but I think they would be suitable on milder steel, using light passes.Overall, these are a better grade of tool.

I needed these for 6061 aluminum cutting about .100 passes just because chip clearing is an issue on manual equipment anyway they made a nice clean cut just using WD40 as a lube and blowing out with air after each pass. I also tried on some scrap brass I'm not sure the alloy but it cut cleanly.

I go through a lot of 1/4" bits using my CNC machine to cut out wood parts. Always looking for a great deal on good bits. These are awesome. Tried one and it proved to be very sharpe with a nice clean cut. Excellent deal.

Product Reviewed: Carbide Square End Mill - 4 Flute - 1/4" 4T (5 Piece, 1/4") for $35TL;DR; Very economical; fine grind;I’m a hobby machinist. I’ve used almost exclusively import end mills in HSS which I’ve had good enough performance from. Recently I’m increasing my carbide mill stock.I’m very impressed with these import end mills. Most of them have a very high quality finish on them like these do, that are quite difficult to photograph. I broke out a macro lens for my camera so you can see the end flute arrangement. This one comes in basic packaging missing the interior gel flute protector some mills have. I doubt this is a big issue except for bigger heavier end mills that might require additional impact protection for shipping.5 Stars and Excellent value. Bench review only. How I review:Reviews start with 5 stars and I subtract points.-0 for value but I try to provide guidance-0.5 to -3 for product not matching description e.g. stainless steel is actually plated steel-0.5 to -3 for product missing badly on executionI select products carefully so low (1-3 scores) are rare but detailed comments and critiques almost always are in the review. Most of my reviews come out 4-5 range. If possible I dismantle or destroy items to examine inner workings.

Under $10 each for solid carbide end mills is a great deal. I haven't pushed these terribly hard to find their limit, but even if you treat them like HSS, it's still and awesome deal.

These millends are good quality and do well for my projects I mill on my CNC. I would recommend them and will update on the life of the bits once I run more projects.
