Tape works well. The splicing block is an asset in keeping the tape in place while you get your work done. Seems like a good value.

Clever way to connect leads to audio tapes. Easy to use

It makes it easier to splice leader(clear) tape to end of recording tape. I use it for reel to reel tape. I still had to trim tape along top and bottom of splice, hard to drop splicing tape exactly on two pieces. Block is long enough to line up both tapes exactly.Use an exact knife or box cutter. You can lay leader tape on top of recording tape use cutter to trim both pieces together, get better splice that way. Plenty of leader tape and splicing tape included, will last quite a while. I would not like to splice tapes without a block.
