I’ve been able to review a few forstner bits through the vine program. And it looks like I have another winner. The bit arrived in what seemed to be a sharp condition. This was confirmed as it had no trouble going all the way through a 2x6, leaving a clean hole. When I turned the wood over I saw that that bit easily passed through the hard wood very near a knot.I’m happy to have this forstner bit!

Works like a charm on a 2x4 and comes with a nice case to hang it on my pegboard.

I've done handy work around the house my whole life, but never used a forstner bit before. Started getting into some woodworking recently, thought I'd get my first forstner bit. Drilled a hole in a scrap of 1x3, and wow! Perfectly symmetrical hole, no tear out, flat bottom. The bit is very sharp. Can't compare it to higher end brands, but it beats a standard drill bit any day of the week!

It's hard to beat the value in this bit. It's your basic multi-spur forester bit, as good as many I've purchased for twice the price. Holes are cut fast and clean, bit is sharp and well constructed. No rough machining or burrs.

I'm going to be making a bunch of cabinet doors and, consequently, will need to drill a bunch of 35mm holes for the hinge cup; conveniently a 1-3/8" Forstner bit is the same size as 35mm. I already have a bit this size, but it's seen a bunch of action and I wanted a nice sharp bit to bore the holes in my cabinet doors, so I ordered this bit. Now, first things first, the product claims to be "Tungsten Carbine Tipped" in the product title as well as the description says that it is "made of Tungsten Carbide". There are no carbide tips that I can see on this bit. It is machined from a uniform piece of steel as far as I can tell, with no carbide tips brazed on to the steel. Unless this whole drill bit is made from carbide--and at this price, I highly doubt that's the case--so this seems like a typical inexpensive Forstner bit.The machining on it is okay, nothing particularly exceptional. The two primary cutting edges that excavate the chips from the hole being drilled are relatively sharp but also have burrs along the entire cutting length that I'm going to have to file off to get this to a usable state. There appears to be a little bit of run out on the drill bit's shaft; the resulting hole, while fairly clean, is 35.44mm or 1.397" in diameter, so slightly larger than the specified 1.375" diameter. Will this affect the results of my cabinet doors? Probably not. But I wanted to provide all this info to make it clear that this is not, in my opinion and having seen lots of carbide tipped bits, carbide tipped as advertised, and while serviceable is what I would consider a below-average bit. That said, the price tells you what you need to know about the quality of the bit; it's certainly adequate for most beginning woodworker tasks or for a one-off project. I just wouldn't expect this to be up to the rigors of a professional or heavier use DIY woodshop.

I really like this bit. I have a few Forstner style drill bits - and this one makes a really clean holes fairly quickly. These are best used in a drill press. I really like that they included a case. The bit arrived rust free, however, the case opened in transit and the bit was loose in the shipping bag.The quality you get for the price is perfect. If you are a beginner word worker, this is the perfect bit to start off with. I will certainly consider this brand as I need more sizes for projects.
