This bit would only work well in a drill press. In a handheld drill it bounces around.

Needed this to cut circles into flora foam so that glass cylinders stayed in place. Worked very well and I am very happy with the result.

It's big, heavy, and sharp when new. Best applied with a drillpress at low speed with that to be bored Clamped Down.As soon as it 'bites' the material, said material Will Try to Spin with the bit.We had to use it a few times with a handheld drill, a process to be approached with Full Attention and Grip on the drill. You'll need it.(We have a router bit that approaches the diameter of this; Low speed, minimum depth of initial cuts, and one still considers some sort of 'body and limbs protective wear' might not be a bad idea....)Good luck, and don't forget to count your fingers anyway... ;)

The bit arrived in what appeared to be good condition with undamaged packaging. Sadly, the blister package it came in was the best part of the order. I chucked the bit into my press and set up a a piece of black walnut to bore a hole for a light mount. When the bit contacted the work piece and started cutting it shredded the wood. Thinking it may be a bad piece of wood or bad set up I repeated the set up and tried again with a scrap piece of pine...same result. Just for the sake of covering my bases, I tried a scrap piece of hickory...again it trashed to wood. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME buying this bit! I tried to "cheap out" because I only needed to bore two holes. Lesson learned! This will be returned!

Can’t say this will last long. I needed it to drill 4 holes and really haven’t used it again. If you need something to bore about 30-40 holes this will work and the price was right.

Garbage. Did a test run of this bit and it skates and is very dull.
