Ordered one and it did not work, had them send another one and it works great. Was bummed because it was in the single digits and was very cold but once I got a good one. I've had no problems staying warm

I needed two of these to fix an old furnace, and they fit and work perfectly. The only caveat is that they don't come with any instructions or description. There are four input wires and two output. Look at the Amazon page for the item to see what the different input wires are for -- they're for different incoming voltages, and you want to get the right ones.

This transformer is twice as powerful with 24V 40kva compared to the previous 24V 20kva. It is twice as heavy compared to the previous transformer which blew. I hope it will last as Long as the furnace and do not need to be replaced again.

I had an AC failure at my rental property. I quickly determined that it was the transformer and after some testing, I figured it was a bad compressor relay that took out the transformer. I bought two of each (so I would have a spare) for under $90 and installed them in my older unit, saving at least a $900 service call. That was what I was quoted based on the assumption it would be an electrical repair, which it was.DIY is where it's at!

Generally, when ordering a transformer with different input or output options, the manufacturer includes at least a leaflet which details which colour wires are for connection to a particular service. This one does not; however, on a sticker mounted on the transformer's top side, it does provide details on connectivity. The problem is that after running warm for some time, the sticker will come off of the text fade. This I have seen happen on other occasions, which is why reputable manufacturers no longer do this sort of thing. For instance, in 40 years as an electric mechanic, I have never seen brown and red wires which are used as the input. As soon as it arrived, I installed it, so it's been in operation for a couple of hours. It is running slightly warm, which is no surprise. If anything noteworthy occurs down the road, I'll follow up.At least on the output side, they do have black for line and white for neutral, but red for 208v and yellow for 240v is not a common wiring scheme. It's a good thing that the seller has included an image with the corresponding colour coding in their description. I've included a shot of the sticker with colour and power connections.Construction is as expected for a lower-cost transformer, but the mounting tabs are bent. This was shipped in a small cardboard box, which offered no protection. Then, it was shipped in a bubble bag. Somewhere along the way, the tabs got bent. Sure, I was able to straighten them, but this is not something I have ever had to do with other transformers, larger or smaller. As for its operation.► I do get ~26-volt AC on the output wires. This is fairly normal; there is always a little variance, and this amount is nothing to be concerned about.► The wires are trimmed back and tinned for easy soldering if needed or for making a solid connection in a Marrett.► There was no problem powering up the doorbell chimes and providing power to the camera. For the same or less money here on Amazon, there are better-made options available.
