Self tapped through steal and thick sheet metal. Used to fasten tie down rings to bed of a flatbed to transport a motorcycle and three wheeler. Tapped through steal, sheet metal and wood without dulling or breaking. Would purchase again.

I did predrill hole slightly smaller and they did the rest great in 1/8 inch thick steel.

A #8 hex head screw shoul be able to be driven with a 1/4" hex head driver but the heads of these screws were too large. The next size up would be a #10 driven with a 5/16 driver, these were too small for them to be 5/16". Whoever manufactured these had a machine set wrong, which I suspect, or they zinc are coated too thickly. Big disappointment in this defective product.
