These work great drilling into thinner metals; I used them to attach brackets in my enclosed trailer. The wall is 3/8" plywood, and the brackets are 1/8 inch thick, which allows these to fully (but not over) penetrate the underlying support tubing. I had no problem with any of the the screws I used - all were sharp and penetrated easily into mild steel without dulling or breakage.

I use these for all kinds of stuff around the shop. These ones are good quality and have worked wonderfully. I last used them to install rubber pieces on snow blower auger to increase shooting distance. These worked great for that and self tapped right into the steel. I really am pleased with these.

bought for attaching copper ground lugs to galvanized steel pipe. Pre-drilled the holes. The heads of these keep snapping off. Must be very soft metal. Not reccomended.

I use self-drilling screws all the time for all kinds of projects because I like the convenience of saving time because they drill a hole as you install them. To see how well these are made, I drilled one through a 3/16th inch piece of metal stock that I purchased from the local hardware store. Not only did it cut right through the metal it also did not break while screwing all the way down. I'm confident in recommending them.

Well made quality screws. Heads fit tight in the socket and they go in like a hot knife. I like the rubber gasket, thats a nice touch to have on hand for when you need it.All in all, nice quality set of fasteners. No defects in any of them that I have used so far.
