This thermometer is easy to use and accurate (I double checked the temp with a digital thermometer). The thermometer met our expectations for keeping track of brewing temperatures.

Got this to keep track of temperature inside my compost tumbler. Works pretty well, gives me a good idea of how compost is doing. One advantage over those labled for compost is the shorter probe, it fits perfectly inside the tumbler. Been using for a while now and very pleased

I got this for a compost thermometer. I bought two to check two piles at once for activity. I measured air temp, cold water, hot water and outdoor water temps. They are all within a degree or two (F). So many other thermometers are well over double the price. I don't get it. Maybe the others come with a roll of toilet paper. Ha ha. These work just fine. Get 'em.

A very essential tool for getting a good reading on the wort for my home brewing. I like the length of the measuring rod and the clip that allows me to leave it on the pot, giving me a hands free reading access. I'd been using a regular cooking thermometer but this one is much more precise. Money well spent.

I have had this for about a year. The readings are still within +/- 2 degrees. This is close enough for government work (and beer brewing work). I have found that even when it steams up from being placed in the boil, it continues to work and have not found any rust or corrosion yet. the needle is good and long, the one i got was closer to 15" than 12" but hey, that's ok with me!

Excellent thermometer- it seems to be precise and accurate. It clipped easily on the edge of my brew pot and angles the tip towards the middle. I did get some slight fogging inside the dial when I foil over the top of the pot and the thermometer, but it dried itself out quickly and was never unreadable. This was far easier to use than the meat thermometers I had previously used and gave more stable readings. I got much better extraction during my mash on this batch than previous ones, and I attribute that to being able to accurately hit the necessary temperatures.

This thermometer is good enough for my purposes. It is not 100% accurate, but it gives me a close range. I put it in a cup of chipped ice and set the gage at 32 degrees Fahrenheit. Then I set it in boiled water and could not get it to go all the way to 212 degrees. As stated, the manufacturer indicates a 4 degrees variance of accuracy. So if you set it correct at one end for either boiling or freezing, it would seem that the opposite end will read off about 5 degrees or so - at least that's what it did in my case. I will be using this thermometer to measure the temperature of my compost soil in a home made trash can composter. So being able to measure within a few degrees variance is good enough for my purposes. It works well in the compost and it reacts to temperature change pretty swiftly. One review noted the plastic tip on the end. It would seem that the tip is to protect one from getting stabbed; the end is pretty sharp. Putting such a plastic tip under very hot or boiling temperatures serves no meaningful purpose here.
