My apartment came with quite an old fridge and freezer, but it seemed alright... until I got this, and tested it out in there. My fridge was definitely not staying as cold as they recommend it should! Using this I was able to dial it in so that it always stays in a safe temperature range, and my freezer is doing better now as well! I realize that's not the purpose of this, but it was a life saver (perhaps literally) in that case. It reacts quickly to temperature changes, the capillary can easily sneak out through the fridge door seal, and it seems extremely accurate. Great product.

This seems like a quality panel mount thermometer with a long 48 inch vapor capillary tube for measuring the temperature exactly where you want by placing the sensor end at the location you want. I actually am placing it in the refrigerator (not mounting it permanently) with the probe toward the back so I can see what the temperature is when I open it up. It seems to be accurate too. At the time of writing this review it was a good price.

I was worried about the temperature of my freezer, and I wanted to check it for myself. This thing works great. I didn’t mount it or anything, but it gave me a reading for the temperature of my freezer and it feels well made.

Works great to monitor my fridge to make sure I’m not losing too much cold air and keeps my meets good all year round

The gauge is pretty accurate according to my Laser thermometer. The build quality feels very good and the length of the Probe is longer than I needed. The size of the dial and the markings on it are perfect for just looking at it while passing by and taking a casual look to make sure the Freezer is running properly. Right now I just have just the cable running under the door insulator so I can run some tests and figure out how to mount it.One week in and it is working properly and looks a lot more fancy than the Freezer itself :-) so I am happy with it.

Tested outside in montreal winter at 0C, it hits well. Also if you use it on your fridge, I have noticed the screen will become foggy once you open the door. Looks like your ambient room humidity is rushing in and condense on the glass. No big deal though. The coil however seems weak, would love to be more resistant. Feel you can easily kink and no more vapor will goes through.

Well, there isn't much to say about this vapor actuated dial thermometer except it seems reasonably well-constructed and it's fairly accurate based on some quick tests against a known environment. It has the standard 2" dial with 48" capillary (fairly long) and it's related from -40°C to 15°C. It's reasonably priced at $22 for what it provides and its overall build quality, accuracy, and performance.
