  • Easy-to-read 2.5" Dial, 32 to 250 Fahrenheit with +/- 2.5-2-2.5% Accuracy
  • Clamps to 3/4 in or 1 in Size Pipes
  • Glass Lens Will Not Yellow Over Time
  • For use on boiler lines, water heaters, or any process line where the approximate surface temperature would be helpful to monitor.

The REOTEMP S2-F1 Pipe Clamp Surface Hot Water Thermometer is a quality thermometer for use on pipes, boiler lines, water heaters, process lines, or hot water pipes where a clamp attached thermometer is needed. The thermometer offers an approximate reading of the temperature inside the pipe by sensing the temperature on the pipe surface. Please note some heat loss will occur as the temperature conducts trough the material of the pipe and thermometer. The thermometer accuracy is rated at +/- 2.5-2-2.5%. The S2-F1 features a glass lens that will not yellow over time and an easy-to-read 2.5" dial. The temperature range is 32 to 250 Fahrenheit. This unit comes with a 1-year limited warranty.

These work ok. Spring holders could have a touch more tension. Will not hold on a 1 inch copper pipe. Had to mount them to fittings.

I liked the analog look and it’s easy to read. Guessing the temperature could be off by 10-15 degrees because it not a probe or wrapped around the pipe. I helped me figure out my circulation line and radiant heating. Trying to figure out the temperature coming back.

I’m so glad I waited to review this . Mine worked fine out of the box . So I thought . I suspected mine was not accurate - sure enough it was off by 17 degrees . I thought of just compensating for the variance… but then the needle just stopped moving no matter what . Something obviously failed internally . I’m going to attempt to contact the seller . If no luck … I’m just going to return this . Just a caution : be sure to compare yours with a known accurate thermometer before throwing away the product package !

Seems to be well made and accurate. Side note: (1) This product works through thermal conductivity, so there is going to be lag time until the display catches up. (2) Since the pipe I attached it to is round, and the back side of the thermometer is flat, I added thermal paste (nasty stuff to work with) to increase its surface area. (3) The dial face is adjustable, there are two very small set screws on the back. Loosen them and rotate the dial body to make your adjustments. So, overall I’m satisfied with my purchase.

The units works well. However they must be securely attached to the line. The springs provided does not work well on smaller pipe so wire ties may Suite you better as it did for me.

The spring shipped with the gage was to long for 3/4 inch copper pipe and the gage was off 30 degree.A trip to hardware store for a spring and recalibrate the gage it is working great. It's working and help me turn down my hot water heaters 25 degrees I am sure this will save money.I will be getting one more for hot water heater number 2.

Gage was simple and easy to install on my heater hot water discharge piping. Surprisingly, this gage temperature readings obtained from contact with the outside surface of the pipe were very close (a few degrees cooler) to the readings from another nearby installed gage that senses temperature directly from contact with the hot water inside the pipe. A good quality gage that’s very reasonably priced. A good cheaper alternative to use this temperature gage vice trying to install a temperature gage in the piping system after the fact.

I am using this on a hydronic floor heating system for the return (cold) side. I already have a combination temp/pressure gauge on the hot side, but its nice using this to see the return water temp side. It gives a good idea of the temp drop through the loops. Its a little loose on 3/4" pipe with the length spring they send, but you can shorten it up and it holds fairly well. If you are going to mount it where there is vibration you may want to consider gluing it to the tubing instead. Accuracy is.. close. I checked with a temp gun and it seems to be off by about 3 degrees at 155F. Obviously, wouldnt be using this on anything that requires a much greater accuracy, but for my purpose its just fine. We'll see how long it lasts - but no complaints so far.
