Long ago my father, a clarinetist, would cut little squares off of rubber gloves and adhere them to the bottom of my thumb rest to protect me. It didn't stop me from growing a callous, but it didn't hurt as much to practice. These take the work out of his approach, slipping over the thumb rest snugly and taking off some of the pressure. I don't really need 12 of them, but it's nice to know if my callous wears one down I can replace it.

I'm disappointed with these; they're too firm and nearly as uncomfortable as the thumb rest itself.

This 12 Pack Rubber Clarinet Thumb Rest Cushion Protector was the perfect choice for my daughter’s clarinet. They were easy to install and form fitting. We used another recommended brand that did not fit as well and so we already lost and had to replace it. I provided a picture of the difference for reference. There are plenty of replacements in this pack and so far this kind is staying in place. These are made well with a smooth and cushioning surface that provides comfort for her thumb and she is happier with this type and brand.
