Used this product a couple years ago to fix a rotting wood door frame. Has held up to extreme temps and rain and snow and ice.A month ago I used it again to repair a deck board that had rot at one end. This will be a huge test of durability for it. I screwed in a board below the deck board to give the wood filler a backer. But it’s still subjected to bending stresses. So far so good. If it deteriorates I’ll come and update the review with how long it held up.

I have used wood fillers extensively and really like this product for its workability and slightly longer drying time compared to bondo. I bought it when l couldn't find bondo and have come to prefer it. Just wish it wasn't so expensive.

If I understand it correctly, this is a 2 part polyester based filler, very similar to auto-body filler. It adheres great to wood, it sands easily, and it sets up quickly. The only disadvantages are the fumes, that it can be a little difficult to get the ratio right, and that it sets up quickly especially in warm weather. That said, I like it better than epoxy because epoxy is miserable to sand, takes forever to cure, and usually leaves a waxy film on the surface. Compared to drying solvent based one part filler, this cures faster and is a lot stronger. This is my go to for wood filler for painted anything.Oh, and bonus feature, if you want a finer filler for after this for tiny defects, you can use auto glazing putting, like a 3m product. That will go right over this and make for a very smooth finish.

Product is as advertised. I have used this many times on MDF repairs and wood repairs. It is on the pricey side but well worth the expensive if you know how to work with it. My picture shows hidden trim damage inside a closet. Fabricated a form, filled it with the wood filler and as you can see from the results another successful project completed.

This filler is excellent. It dried and cured thoroughly, and seems to be as strong as others reported. The only reason it gets only 4 stars is because the directions misled me. The directions said to work quickly because trying starts at ten minutes after adding the hardener. I was pretty precise with the 1:16 ratio (hardener:filler), and I worked as quickly as possible, but this stuff started hardening after only about two minutes -- and it hardened fast. I had only done one of the four areas I had to fill (and I was filling gaps about 3/4" square), so I scooped the remainder into the trash while I could still get it out of the pan. I then simply ended up mixing three more small batches rather than a large one like the first. Though this worked, it was irritating -- besides adding work time, I had to smell the stuff longer than expected. I actually took a small break between each batch, because I had to get away from the work area for fresh air. DO NOT use this in a badly ventilated area. And if you later sand your work, also be in a ventilated area -- though the dust looks like regular fine sawdust, you'll smell the filler's chemicals again, albeit diminished. But despite all this unexpected irritation, I'm pleased with the final result.

The product is good. But it should come with a spatula and measurement spoon.

This is the best two part wood filler on the market. PeriodWhen you need to fill large or small joints, voids, or feather out joints this isbar none the best. Why? because it sets up hard. Now listen up, it's easy to sand.Sets up hard and easy to sand for a joint fill that will not crack.Superior product.

Excellent product.Watch this video clip for great advice.Find clip by searching Minwax High Performance Wood Filler (Epoxy Resin) video TMG.Weight the components! At a 16 to 1, to 20 to 1 ratio.Work extremely quickly. The trick in the video of using two paint scrapers is fantastic.I was unaware or it, and it is better way to work with this product than mixing in a container.Mix the can of resin well.Wooden craft stick works well.

Amazon is obviously mixing multiple very different products here with the reviews. The product labeled Minwax High Performance Wood Filler is a great product for what it is designed. It is a two part system like Bondo and even dries grey. It does not come in a tube that can be already cut nor can it dry out. It is harder than wood and lasts years. I repaired my workbench with it then beat the crap out of it and it is still good several years later. Minwax High Performance is designed more for structural damage repair to wood that will be painted or nobody cares about cosmetics. It works excellent in repairing things like door strike plates that are destroyed or stripped out large screws/carriage bolts and knots that fall out etc. It is stronger than wood. Unlike Bondo it sticks to wood REAL good. Without all these bogus 1 star ratings from the wrong products Minwax High Performance Wood Filler would be a 5 star product as well it should.Anyone who is still chasing a great "stainable" wood filler that will blend in and match your nice wood project might just as well shift over to Unicorns. The products are designed to work marginally on a real small finishing nail size hole. More like a brad.

I have used this for many years... To fill in wood rot I have cut out. Before putting or replacing with this stuff - I put several screws into the remaining wood - which will be hidden by the wood filler... They serve as "anchors" to the wood filler. Amazing stuff... Have a sharp razor blade handy - and as the substance hardens - trim/cut the excess as close as you can to what you want the final surface area to be (starts to harden in about 3-5 minutes - then WATCH OUT - it hardens in about a minute). After it hardens - you can then sand it to smooth it out. This product has save me probably thousands of dollars over the past years in repairs to my wooden windows and surrounding trim... No matter how well I sand, scrub, prime and paint every few years - some spots suck up the moisture and you have soft wood rot... This product takes care of that. I have used the wood hardener in conjunction with this to harden the remaining wood - but only as a last resort as I attempt to cut ALL of the soft wood out. But - if that means you are left with nothing to anchor the screws with - then you need to use the minwax wood hardener (as directed) and wait the 3 to 4 hours for it to harden before adding the wood filler. But - I go ahead and drill starter holes for the screws and then screw in the screws (no all the way in, but far enough so they will not stick out of the final product you are looking for) before it hardens... enjoy
