These watering sticks are large and only work in a fairly big pot. I like that they are clay and seem to release water slowly. Easy to install in pot. Fits a one or two liter bottle but needs to be balanced so it doesn’t fall over. Needed some support against plant to stabilize. May use them even when not on vacation.

Loved everything on both sizes made, but would love to see a shorter height made for small house plant.

arrived with several cracked even though shipping container seemed well made. These hold bottles ok, but I live on the 17th floor of a condo building and the wind blows the bottles out of the watering spikes, so would not recommend for a high rise

Decided to use them with my indoor plants. Well packaged. It is always interesting to see how some plants are more thirsty than others! Ordered a second box and I may even try them outside!Love the productAdditional comment. My second box had 1 broken spike despite the EXCELLENT packaging. Got in touch with them directly. They are ON TOP of customer service.

I so wanted to love these. They arrived packaged extremely well. All were in perfect condition. They are very easy to insert into the soil and I used wine bottles and they fit nicely down into the terra cotta spikes without the risk of falling over. I was using them for my garden pots but my pots are too big and our temperatures are way too hot for these to provide enough consistent moisture. The soil was drying out even with water still in the bottles. They would probably work beautifully for indoor plants or for smaller pots with more mild temperatures. That is why the 4 stars.

I have heard about terracotta pots to help with the watering of plants. I at first was very skeptical. Once I received them, i followed the directions and then placed them in every pot that I could followed by a full water bottle . I usually tend to try and water my plants every morning. But with how we travel, some places are hotter than others and with the time of year we are in, it is turning summer and I’m not always home during the day to water them a second time if it gets to hot and what not. But these have helped out tremendously and my plants are prospering. I tell everyone i have a brown thumb i can never keep any plant alive that i buy, but with these, I’m not over watering or under watering. I just water them in the morning and make sure to keep their water bottles full and refresh the water bottle every couple have days if it hasn’t finished the whole water bottle or if the water bottle is empty or about to be empty i go ahead and refill it no matter the time of day.

I never realized that my plants needed so much water until recently. Two of my plants were veiny and they had some yellow leaves. Now that I understand that they need more water, I put bottles full of water in these terra cotta spikes and place them in the plants, and the water is gone in a few days! Their leaves look terrific - glossy and plump! Not sure whether plants that need less water would benefit or not, but my thirsty plants seem to love it!Update: i have a few small plants that I tried the spikes with, and the soil became too wet, in my opinion. With my bigger, thirstier plants they are still doing well.
