This didn't work at first. I followed the instruction that clearly says to connect the red wire to the power source and the blue wire to the device. The difference was marginal at best. But I read another review that mentioned doing the opposite of what the instructions show by switching the wires around, I connected the blue wire to power and the red wire to the device, and THAT finally worked. The noise is reduced dramatically and I can finally get radio reception while the USB port is being used.

I had feed back through my radio when I turned on my LED RGB lights on my boat, this removed all feedback sound completely. I add the filter to the RGB controller power supply and tan the ground back to the battery.

I have a 2002 Mitsubishi eclipse gt, and when the radio head unit finally died I replaced it with an aftermarket head unit utilizing my existing amplifier and speakers. The stock head unit must have contained an ignition noise filter in it's circuitry, because after my installation I had ignition noise that could be heard with the volume turned all of the way down. I installed this filter exactly as directed, and was dismayed to find that it did not eliminate the noise as installed. Fortunately, I had read the reviews and remembered that some had suggested that I connect it inline to the yellow constant power, and it did the trick! I discovered that it didn't make any difference whether or not the black wire was connected to ground, so I left it disconnected to avoid the possiblity of creating a parasitic ground that might drain my battery. So we can add me to the list of people who had success by installing on the constant circuit instead of the switched circuit. It might be helpful to future customers to include these ideas in future packaging for those who buy without reading reviews.

I have a Pioneer W4660NEX head unit in my Porsche Cayman. Everything I did for this unit and the previous Pumpkin android unit resulted in severe alternator whine. I worked on it off and on for two years!I spent $600 on a new head unit to fix it. I tried rare eath magnets, extra grounding wires, redoing the wiring, routing power and ground away from speakers, replacing RCA jacks, insulating everything. No dice.I cut the power + red wire on the ISO loom on the radio side. Put the red line to the car side, and the blue line to the radio side. The black got screwed on to an obvious grounding screw point on the Pioneer head unit's chassis at the fan. Fixed wthe whine interference completely. Zero reservations about this product for fixing alternator whine.

I installed one on the radio on my boat. I get horrible interference when the engine is running due to electrical noise. This device helps, but not enough. I've seen others installed several in series, but that is rediculous.

Product definitely did remove quite a bit of noise but it did not eradicate it. I have an odd situation in my vehicle that required ground insulation so to speak. I do not use an aux cable out of my phone as most people do but rather I use a Bluetooth FM radio transmitter that causes some pretty nasty alternator whining through the stereo even at low volumes. This product did knock the noise down about 60 to 70% but it wasn't an end all solution for the problem.Installation was not difficult at all but it is important to find a proper wiring diagram to know which wire is the 12v switched so that you can add it to an existing harness

This filter worked great with my Jeep's CB radio. I was able to make a plug-in harness with a branch to also supply a GMRS radio I was installing at the same time. The CB had been suffering from some ignition noise - fairly annoying but the radio's ANL switch brought it down to a tolerable level. However, once I added this filter, the ignition noise is completely GONE, even with the ANL turned off!As other reviewers noted, installation directions for this filter are lacking, although I "assume" that its a standard Pi-section filter so it probably doesn't have any conditionality. I wired RED to the +12 volt source, and the BLUE feeds the radios. BLACK, of course, goes to a convenient ground and should be grounded to the chassis directly with as short a lead as possible - I actually used braid to connect the ground.
