Replaced a 40+ year old part with this one and it fit perfect. It came with no gaskets or fittings.

Purchased this because it was a dimensional interchange with me old one. It's located inside out house and is noticeably noisier than the one that was removed. Otherwise works great and was an easy install.

The female threaded fitting on the union cracked after a couple of weeks of use. I didn’t over tighten it, just enough to seal using PTFE thread paste. This is the pressure side of the unit and it leaked every where. I’m glad I was at home and noticed it quickly and could turn off the water. They took it back and refunded me even though it was past the return date, so there’s that for a second star.I bought a different PRV

We recently moved into a house that had high water pressure. After doing some digging (literally) I discovered the PRV was bad. Instead of buying the repair kit I went ahead and bought this since they are basically the same price. After replacing the guts of our 18 year old unit with the new stuff, it works great and the pressure is 60 psi now.

Just what I needed. The old one would either give you 100 Lbs of pressure or 15 Lbs. Great to have steady pressure again. I had to reduce the factory set pressure. High pressure blow seals in faucets and toilet water inlets.

Bought a water pressure tester and found that my 25-year-old Wilkins 34-70 regulator was no longer stepping down the pressure from the street. Our meter had blown its frost relief perforations two summers ago while the water company was doing some extensive work nearby. Glad any over pressure that might have been in play did not blow out anything in the house. Whatever the cause, the pressure coming into the house now is 84 PSI (not too bad, but I’ll sleep better knowing I have a working regulator). So, went online for a replacement and was beyond pleasantly surprised to see that the same part number is still in production. I believe the internals are interchangeable, but cannot attest to that. However, the castings are identical and the swap out took five minutes using the old threaded collar, which I just reused. Out of the box, the regulator was set to 60lbs — perfect, job done. Thank you, Wilkins, for not reinventing the wheel when it isn’t necessary! And thanks for continuing to use top quality bronze castings and stainless steel and buna rubber internals. Made in USA — hurray!

I was originally going to replace our regulator, but the location of the old pressure regulator prohibited me from replacing it. Being that it was boxed in by the floor joist and a wall built directly below it. I was unable to remove it being a single union connection. It could have turned into a much bigger job if it wasn't for the design of this product being backwards compatible inside the regulator. I was able to gut the new one and clean out the old one and replace the defective parts inside. I really appreciate Wilkins ability to maintain a design all these years/decades and making them compatible with the previous models. In the end it made the job much easier for a home owner.Back story: We had a house fire in late 2012. For whatever reason the plumber decided to use the old regulator? It is very frustrating and disheartening when you're trying to rebuild a house and being taken advantage of by someone in that situation. He could have cleaned it out and rebuilt it. But all the black grime and soot from that house fire was inside that old regulator when I took it apart. I was surprised by what I found. Thank's to YouTube and Amazon I felt like it was something I could tackle without getting screwed over again by lazy or worse dishonest people in the industry.Anyway, Wilkins thank you for making a great product being backwards compatible. Much appreciated.

This is an exact replacement for the one that failed on our water main. Considering I have lived in this house for almost 20 yrs and never needed to touch the pressure valve I'd consider that good. I hope this one lasts as long. Quality is top notch and it was extremely easy to mount and set the pressure. Came from the factory set just a hair under 50 psi. So I set ours to 60 psi and its working flawlessly. I'm glad that in 20+ yrs the design hasn't changed at all which made it a must get since it was basically plug and play. BTW, the local plumbing supply houses wanted about twice the price for the exact same unit. So thankful that I found it here.

like most folks i went to Home Depot to find a regulator, oddly they don't sell them. Off to the internet.Came with all the parts needed to swap out my old water pressure regulator. just needed a little teflon tape to replace the old worn stuff. you may need different fittings as your plumbing may be different. I reused the brass fittings already clamped to my pex piping. yours may be soldered with copper tubing.had a hot water tank that was leaking out the cold water inlet. i replaced that. then the hot water pressure safety valve leaked and i replaced that. now both were leaking. tried turning the old regulator pressure down and absolutely no change. whole house had too much pressure. even my toilets were trickling from the excessive city water pressure.note to self, start with the regulator first. i should have bought a pressure gauge (hose bib) to check the water pressure.New unit was easy to install with regular hand tools. Big crescent wrenches or channel locks. Didn't have to adjust the regulator spring. turn in to increase pressure, back it out to reduce. easy peasy.

I had excessive water pressure--120 PSI. Installed this valve and it works great. Factory adjustment is set to 50 PSI, or so, but I adjusted it a bit higher, to around 60 PSI. Easy to do. The input side of this version has a union-type fitting. If I were to do it again, I would add a similar union adapter to the output side. This would allow the valve to be unscrewed on both sides and lift straight out for cleaning or replacement, if needed.
